Rebooting the entire universe from a few particles that drifted into the Pandorica??

In a rare concession to human rights and ethical treatment, the Pandorica contained a single small piece of fairy cake, in case the Doctor got hungry.

I was thinking about River and her diary and how her past is the Doctor's future. That must be so weird; the further into her future she goes, the less the Doctor remembers of their past relationship (whatever kind it was). She could never have a "remember when..." conversation with him. And the further the Doctor gets into his future timeline, it will be the same for him.

I think the idea is, generally, they simply met out of order, not just in relative reverse. Hopefully, after the next episode with her when we find out what her deal is, we can start hopping around, and see her after the Byzantium.

I think it's sweet that he's started getting domestic with her. "Honey, I'm home," and when he tapped her nose (!) when she complained his plan was impossible.

or Davros and 45 billion Daleks were defeated by some knob twiddling (ooh er missus!)

One of the worst moments for Dalek kind. They turned into a cartoonish threat

"Argh! stop whirling me around! Curse you!"

Plus Donna's technobabble last minute save.

Thank goodness Moffat is trying to restore the threat/fear of the daleks

Of course, that would work a lot better if he hadn't turned the Daleks into a collection of plastic-looking rainbow Power Rangers villains, nor had a stone Dalek running around begging for mercy.

The Daleks have never been too proud to beg. Remember, well, "Dalek"? "Have pity!"

The cinematography in the last two episodes really helped the appearance of the new Daleks. The should be fine so long as they don't shoot them in a way to emphasize their giant skirts and hunched backs. Which, naturally, is how they shot their first appearance, so no one will get over their first impression of them.

And when he asked her if she was married. They'd make a cute couple. :)

I fully agree on the Power Rangers Dalek bit but then that's the general consensus from what I've seen in various forums.

As for the Dalek begging for mercy, I see that more as building up the mystery of who/what River Song is than weakening the Daleks.

Rubberbands didn't just spring into existence but were manufactured that way. I think saying that loops can't be created from a linear something is a bit silly.
But the examples you discuss are physical objects. I think comparing to a paradox is not the best example. Rubber bands didn't spring into exitence, they were made that way, like a paradox is made that way without sticking the two ends together.

Rings of saturn? :p

My point is that that is all besides the point! The plot details as shown, including the paradoxes, can affect your enjoyment of the story. I think the paradoxes as seen (regardless of their exact origins) reduces my enjoyment slightly but I still thought it was a great ride!

Mr Awe
I like paradoxes, i thought it was fun.

I'm often amazed at how I seem to be the only person who liked the finale of "Last of the Time Lords." Takes all sorts!

I liked it too. Don't worry. Just because an opinion is popular, doesn't mean it's right.

I mean most people liked The Big Bang, inexplicably.

Wow. Best! Season! Ever!

Disclaimer: I haven't read through the entire thread, I'm out of town, I'm not going to read through the entire thread, and this is just first reaction after watching it so I have no Idea what has been said, what has been criticized, or what is dividing the fan base (Which seems to never be happy from what I've seen) this time.

Anyway, with that out of the way, I loved this episode, and I think this was my favorite season of all the Doctor Who I have watched (Again, I hate repeating myself, but the fan base insists; started watching in 2005 with Ecc). Everything just came together, and in the final twenty minutes it was almost like "yeah we've saved the universe again, time to party." I love mysteries, and this season brought it like no other season has done. This arc was just awesome, and how it tied together was almost beautiful.

This episode had everything I love about Doctor Who all rolled into one. The down points, the highlights, the Doctor springing into action, and the mystery is still always there. Watching it, I've got to tell ya, I had fun. I had probably too much fun espcially the whole resetting in time. It was emotional what the Doctor told Amelia, and when it all came together at the wedding and the big blue box appeared, I almost jumped up and down in celebration. I was that emotionally invested in this story, and man that 40-something minutes just flew by. Everything about it was fun, from the showing of timey whimey, to the resetting of time, to the wedding. I was concerned that there would be a big reset at the end, and those ended up being unjustified. Yeah things have to be reset, but the way they went about it was creative, amazing, and, you guessed it, fun.

Matt Smith is awesome as the Doctor. Maybe not as good as Tennent yet (Personally, I want him to show a dark side because one of the things I loved about Eccleston was his multi-dimensionality as a character. He was fun when he needed to be, and serious when he needed to be. Smith leaned more on the fun side) but getting there. Gillian and the guy who played Rory made up a great cast this season, and I am a very happy Doctor Who fan right now. Well done to all involved and thanks for the ride. It was a blast.

This is the Daleks we're talking about. By their very nature they are a cartoonish threat. The only reason they beat the Time Lords was that they finally met an enemy more pathetic than themselves.

Plus Donna's technobabble last minute save.

That's what I liked about. Donna was the last person who could defeat the Daleks and it was her human creativity that did it. Yeah it could have been done better (Donna finds the Dalek's only weakness, their filling system)

Thank goodness Moffat is trying to restore the threat/fear of the daleks

Yeah Dalek's serving tea. Wow that really scared me :guffaw:

I have to disagree. One of the things I like about the Mof-Daleks is that they are BIG and bulky. The hump doesn't bother me (but I don't like the front where the gunstick and the plunger sticks out). The new angles make them look small like the RTD-Daleks.

I mean you can't push a Mof-Dalek down the stairs. He just backup and run you over.

The Tardis exploding created a new star I assume or at least a facsimile of a star and the Doctor explained that was what was keeping the Earth warm.

I got that, but shouldn't the Sun going nova have wiped out the Earth (Generations style.. :p)?
And now that I think about it, if the TARDIS exploded in 2010, why did the stars go nova in 102 A.D.?

Timey-Wimey doesn't apply to fundamental scientific stuff does it? I know it seemed to in that scene but I just take that type of stuff like Star Trek technobabble? LOL
