Some things I noticed while rewatching "The Eleventh Hour"

After watching "The Pandorica Opens," I decided to watch "The Eleventh Hour" again and there were some interesting things I noticed, one of which shocked me...

1. The closing scene of "The Pandorica Opens" is nice reversion to the opening scene of "The Eleventh Hour" (but with exploding galaxies, of course).

2. The laptop Jeff uses is made by Myth (actually it was MΨth, but that's beside the point), which makes me wonder how much of what's going on with Amy is real.

3. After young Amy runs outside to wait for The Doctor, the camera pans inside the house via a window when a shadowy figure runs by. We're made to think at that moment that it's Prisonor Zero, but The Doctor says later in the episode that it takes years to establish a psychic link. Perhaps this is The Doctor visiting Amy like he'll might doing at the Byzantium.

And lastly...

4. I can't believe I missed this, but after watching "The Lodger," I noticed something weird in "The Pandorica Opens" and decided to check it out in "The Eleventh Hour." There's a flight of stairs going up from the second floor of Amy's house. But it's a two-story building!

Damnit. Why isn't it the 26th already?

At last, something we can chalk up to unwibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.

And if that Myth bit is some sort of indicator that some of what we've seen is a dream or not real, I'll be right disappointed.

I noticed something too, he calls amy pond's name "like a name out of a fairy tale." which is a phrase we've been hearing a lot, I'm rewatching the series listening for it again. This may be hinting that all of what's happening is a scenario by the alliance, or something else entirely, let me know whatchya think

Are we going to get any sort of trailer for the finale? I don't see how we can, without any spoilers at all. It's not like The Stolen Earth where the only question was "Is the Doctor going to Regenerate?". Instead every one important is at Peril. They can't really show us any of them without giving away at least a bit of the cliffhanger.

Thematically, we've had a couple times this season where the Doctor depends on his reputation to save the day; in this case, when the Atraxi have that handy-dandy projection of all the invasion forces, and then of all the Doctors. He's got a legend even within the narrative, he himself is a fairy tale -- the season could be simply an extension of the power of legend.

Of course:
"I hate good wizards. They always turn out to be him."

yeah, but we also know they're all going to survive. River's already appeared older and matt and karen are slated for season 6 and the xmas spesh.

While I'm certain that Karen will be with us, I myself have no faith whatsoever that
Amy will survive. After all, Rory's still dead -- we just saw COPY of him, not the real deal.

I noticed this in "The Eleventh Hour"; from outside you can see the house has only 2 floors, but there is space above it that could be a low attic. You can see it very well in this picture.

One thing that I did notice was that no time energy was coming out of the crack in her bedroom wall when the Doctor opened it. Very different from the cracks later in the series. Also, the Doctor said that nothing could escape without them seeing it. But Prisoner Zero escaped, and he did have a solid physical form, so why didn't they see him?

But in this picture, you can see that the stairs go nowhere:

Plus that's a really weird shot composition, considering Amy is looking at the Doctor, but he's well to the right of the camera.
Yeah, I agree, it looks odd. Back when episode 1 aired I just rationalized it led to a low attic, but now it could be something else entirely.

ETA: BTW, when I say "low attic" I mean one that you access via a trap door type entrance, so that you pop up into the attic from the floor. Our house has one like that; the access square blends in pretty well with the ceiling so you can't see it from a distance or if it's dark.

That is strange.

Have you also noticed this series that the phrase "perception filter" has been mentioned more than a few times in various episodes? Almost like the characters (or us viewers maybe?) aren't seeing all the details that should be obvious .

Yeh I mentiond it a few weeks ago just so many mentions of it seems so forced it has to be a hint.

Can't quite make it out on that picture but on the TV I noticed there's actually a door at the top that goes in to the ceiling, so I still assume it goes in to the attic/loft space.

The stairs are at the left. And they do indeed go nowhere. I can't even make out the outline for an entrance to the attic.

For my money, the most important part of "The Eleventh Hour" is that Amelia says, "I haven't got a mum and dad" rather than "My mum and dad are dead," and that grown-up Amy doesn't even mention her aunt. Almost like she had never existed...
