Another great episode. Matt Smith continues to absolute kill with the one liners:

"Can you hold I have to eat a Biscuit"

If I could tell that to a client, well that would be awesome

The Doctor holding a regular screwdriver: "How do you turn this on." :guffaw: Smith's delivery was brilliant.

Was it coincidental that this episode aired the same time England tied the US in the first round game. I was thinking during the football scene was the reaction would be from the UKers regarding that scene. ;)

As for the plot, it was pretty good. Liked seeing a new TARDIS, and I did catch the Voyager reference. Also liked the touch of a Vincent Van Gogh poster on the fridge early in the episode. Also, I don't understand the hatred for various actors (Especially ones I don't know),so I didn't mind Craig and Sophie.

Looking forward to next week. Unleash the Crack-en. ;)
 
Alright, I enjoyed it, but was a bit too silly for my tastes. I put down 'average' and probably won't re-watch it as much as "Vincent etc."

Still, I don't have much reason to complain about it. Especially that amazing ending ... as soon as I saw the console room, my jaw dropped. Lots of nice touches throughout, including a van Gogh refrigerator magnet.

Odd that we're not supposed to forget him. [shrugs] Meh, probably nothing.
 
I must admit even though I knew that I'd like Matt when I saw him my enjoyment of his performance and delivery has increased as the series goes by. Is he David Tennant or Chris Eccelston? No and he isn't meant to be. He's clearly his own Doctor and performs the role in a brilliant and witty off beat type of style. I find it interesting that part of the plot in this episode was him trying to live as a normal human. I am also still puzzled why he didn't use his John Smith alias...maybe he didn't see the point?
 
Really enjoyed it. James Corden hasn't pissed me off the way he appears to have pissed off the rest of the UK, so I enjoyed him. The football match was great. And the Doctor's shirt was number 11, which I squeed at in fangirlish manner (probably not becoming for a woman my age. :lol:) As someone up thread as already commented, delightfully off-concept. The only down side for me was that the house had no second floor. That building looked bloody stupid (and very improbable) without a top floor.

It's the second time the Doctor has mentioned that he doesn't usually do time in the right order, which might be important.

Matt Smith was as hilarious and endearing as always.

No idea who was building it, but the Doctor said it crashed and the hologram was trying to get help but no one on Earth was advanced enough to be able to withstand the connection to the ship, through the hand scanners.
It'd destroy the solar system because the Doctor's mind would over power the system and make it go boom, I think.
The rot was run off from the process that was killing people, I guess it was just toxic.
 
obviously it was going to exploitt he minds relationship between the perception of space time and it's actual flow as [per the vantage of the temporal sensitive... remember how the doctor claimed the all the angels =ed one of him or a bunch of River Songs? A weaker sensitve would notice the passing of matter or perhaps deeper, but a Timelord? It's the diffeence between the chemistry of dynamite and the physics of splitting atoms, the doctors mind is keen enough to split past atoms and past quarks and probably past neutrinos fundementally wrecking parts of time too unique and small to be replaced or repaired because there is no tool or function to doctor such tiny aspects other than on Gallifrey.

It's about that obvious right?
 
I rather enjoyed this weeks episode. Unlike Peter Kay, Corden was actually able to play a different character to himself so didn't irritate me at all.

Smith had some excellent lines and his delivery was great. He's really made the role his own this series and i am glad he's signed on for a few more.
 
Well... Good episode, nice light fun before the big finale which is just what I expected. I didn't hate Corden for a change, I was amused throughout with a few gags and the Doctor trying to fit in and... I now know what the TARDIS design competition was about.

After reading a few comments, the Rani makes sense. A Master return with a beard? Hell... it could be the Sontarans (well, the affiliated of them - can't remember who) who tried to make one before in the Two Doctors.

Anyway.... haven't seen it mentioned (or maybe I missed it) but did anyone else see the other TARDIS in the preview for the next ep? In that big shot of everyone waiting around in space?

I think it's a Sontaran ship.
 
I rewatched the episode and the hologram doesnt resemble the first dr at all. If thats what they wanted they could easily have done a better job.
As a way of attracting a new audience. It's definately better than the Peter Kayt episode which was complete silliness as newcomers would expect from Who.
This episode highlighted some of what was good about the series.
 
Regarding the two storey house, older British viewers might recall the Radio show 'The Goon Show' from the 1950's with Peter Sellars and Spike Milligan. There was an episode where they were lost in the Desert and came upon what looked like a house. After investigating it there was a loud shriek from the character 'Eccles'. What the matter, its only a mirage? asked one of his colleagues.


I know, said Eccles, but I was upstairs!

There's a lot of things I didn't get about the story:

Why did the Doctor have to headbutt Craig to impart information about himself, while we've seen him do it in a much less painless manner (Reinette for instance)?

What was the significance of Craig, then Sophie, touching the console, and why was the Doctor so insistant that they had to kiss? And why did the ship then start to self destruct?

And I agree, that house did look silly without a second floor, especially since the rest of the block was all 2 story homes.
