Stump the Admiral

Don't forget about The Omega Directive, where she flat out tells Tuvok that the Prime Directive is rescinded. Though, I suppose you could cut her some slack there, seeing as how the Omega Directive does, in fact, over-ride the Prime Directive.

She broke the Prime Directive a number of times. However, this is the only time she flats out admits to doing so.

But she flat out admits to doing so because Starfleet protocol requires it, so I have a hard time counting that one.

Is the Prime Directive really broken in this episode, though?

Oh, and, if possible, are you able to identify which episodes these clips come from?

I'd say so....

Tuvok: Captain, I'd be negligent if I didn't point out that we're about to violate the Prime Directive.
Janeway: For the duration of this mission, the Prime Directive is rescinded.
I'd say that means it was broken. But, like Adm_Hawthorne said, Starfleet protocol did actually require it.

Wait (I went back and looked at your list again)

Why'd you include Memorial as a PD violation?

My guess is because Janeway had the memorial recharged at the end, rather than left to its own devices. She also placed a warning buoy nearby, I believe - so people would know what was coming.

Placing a warning was a wise idea, IMO, even if it was breaking the PD. Not sure about recharging the thing, though.

How embarassing.

I think I know 19 of the 25 clips.

(Not sure which is more embarassing. Knowing 19, or ONLY knowing 19. )

Yup, that's it in a nutshell.

But doesn't she also violate the Omega Directive by telling the crew about it?

Depends. It's an odd case, because of their location and the fact that the Directive says to use any and all means to destroy the molecule, while also saying that a captain can't tell their crew. I would say the "any and all means" takes priority, personally.

Neither is embarrassing. :techman: :)

Who did Tom Paris have children with?

A mutated Janeway.

Threshold... *shivers* :barf:

And Kes and B'Elanna too.

Dude got around.

You know what no one ever admits, the prime Directive Violation against the Kazon in Caretaker. Imagine how much betterer their little empire would have become being propped up by caretaker technology? That was theirs to Salvage and janeway stole it from out under them. And despite the principles of Starfleet officers, it is wrong to steal peoples slaves in their territory where slvaery is illegal which makes kes' rescue and the refugee trafficking from Couterpoint totally illegal under Federation law. Oh, and imagine the slave revolt when the ocmapa turned tables on their would be masters and got to take on the caretaker technology as their own like the Kazon took on the trabe technology when they unshackled themselves half a century earlier.

it's a kind of natural development.

Oh, and in Flesh and blood, Janeway and Tuvok talked about how they traded Replicators with EVERYONE they met to get as far as they did with out any guarentees that the technology wouldn't be tasked towards evil or war, which is just an extention of Janeway handing over the Holography tech to the Hirogen who seem to be comitting autogenocide with Janeways gift there.

By any chance, do you know from which episode that last scene (starting from about 0:51 to the end) comes from? I've been trying to find a picture of Janeway with her hands on her hips, and I can't tell. It would appear to be...Season 7, based on the hair?

By any chance,

THAT'S what's so embarassing, of all of the clips you'd think that one would be so memorable, but I can't name it.

I wonder if its from basics 1, since Tom isn't flying the ship, but I don't really believe it since he left when the ship was under such duress and we aren't seeing that yet in this clip.
