Gaith does Wonder Woman

Is this suit concept on the right track?

  • Yeah. The comics suit looks ridiculous and will never fly on the big screen.

  • No, the comics suit is fine! Which is why there've been so many WW movies already!

^Like for instance a mother-daughter relationship? That's usually what's at the core of most of the (admittedly very few) WW centric stories I've seen.

Just make her bi, stuck on an island without any men I think the sapphic subtext of the Amazons is pretty clear but that doesn't mean they can't dig some beefcake too (as the WW TV pilot made clear)

I can think of three reasons why Wonder Woman's writers might not want her to have a romantic relationship.

1) They want to keep her as the "soldier". That's fine if that's what they really are doing.

2) They assume that if she enters in to a romantic relationship with another superhero she will be relegated to being, say, Batman's "girlfriend" in the eyes of the reader. The critics will be waiting for her to be captured and become the damsel in distress every week, needing Batman to save her.

Such a relationship wouldn't make Diana weak any more than Lois makes Superman weak.

3) They believe the male readers won't like the idea of a guy being with a woman who is stronger and more powerful than the guy is. Pretty much all of the Justice League are more powerful than Batman and exactly how many of them intimidate him ? Zero. He's the goddamn Batman! He's not intimidated by Diana or anyone else. He probably has ten different ways to beat her if she ever went rogue.

If not Bruce, then someone like him. Someone who respects her - I remember a story a couple of years ago where the Society had captured the JLA but make the mistake of leaving Bruce a ballpoint pen, and look who the first person he releases is, the one he considers most valuable - but also is not intimidated by her, someone she would have to respect also, as this can't be a one way street. She can't treat the guy like a backscratcher when she's got an itch.

Or, if she's gay, just bloody say so! That's hardly going to put the male readers off, now is it ?

I like the Smallville design. The Mother and Daughter issue has always played a role in WW. Frankly I always got a sense that she dosen't need a man. She can have temperary flings like Batman does.

Nobody needs a man or a woman.

But then there's this.

They've effectively reduced Wonder Woman to a desperate woman who goes to bars and says "don't worry, I'm on the pill".

I found this picture, that portraits the actress Cobie Smulders as Wonder Woman:cool::):
She would fit for the role nicely:bolian:

There are several photoshop jobs of her as Wonder Woman, one of which is posted upthread. Apparently Joss Whedon mentioned her as his choice for the role. Don't know if he was serious or not. Cobie herself has addressed the issue in an interview...

“It’s funny,” Smulders said in an interview at CBS’ winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif., last week, “when you do like an interview for two hours, and then they take the Wonder Woman quote. … My boyfriend … [is] really into comic books, and … he was the one who kind of said, ‘Hey, it would be cool if you could do that.’ And I don’t know. Who knows? I’ll go in for it if it comes up, but it’s definitely not, like, in the works or anything.”

Smulders said that the idea has come up before. “I think it’s just the curse of having brown hair in this industry and being an actress,” she said. “I think it’s just a general, like, question that everyone’s going to pose their clients.”

true, but some people think they do, my sister is one. What I mean is WW is strong enough emotionally to not think like that. Spidey, not do much(in film at least.) Even Clark seems needy sometimes. Not to say WW wouldn't like to get laid every once in a while. She dosent "need" a relationship. I've always seen her as just one of the guys. As the rest of the JL see's her.

Let's just hope that whoever she is interested in insists on using a condom, then.

Yep. Same outfit as the one I posted. There was another picture knocking around of a battle damaged version.

What kind of acting skills does Katy Perry have? Dark haired, and the rack to fill the WW suit, she might do!

I have found yet another and quite good actress that would be very good for the role of Wonder Woman:bolian:
Her name is Julia Benson..and she is currently starring in Stargate:Universe:cool:
She has the looks, most certainly the figure..and she doesnt seem to be a bad actress either:)..

Problem is that she is not very tall. I can't imagine she's any taller than 5'5".

She's handled her role well enough in the show, even though it's very difficult to sympathise with her character given the way she's presented.

Morena Baccarin
Because she can act and she can look very hot in leather, but she needs to grow her hair out again.

Yeah Morena Baccarn really would be a great WW... and she's got that kinda sultry, cool thing goin' on which would be fitting of WW.

She's got my vote!
