Rachel Weisz wants to be in Trek 12

I mean, as a doctor, she can evaluate his command essentials, and Kirk would have to "prove" to her that he can handle it.
Well, I'm all for killing of Chekhov or maybe Sulu to make a dramatic impact, but not Bones; he's just too good. And besides, I don't really want to see Weisz as an antagonist. Sparring-flirting partner, sure; actual challenge to Kirk's command, not so much.

I'm all for killing one of the non-Big Three in the next movie, but Weisz is too old and poised to be outranked by freshly-graduated Kirk.

So were half the crewmembers on the ship! :p
Aye, but at least they had the good taste to keep to the background, so we wouldn't notice 'em. :rommie:

The only man I want to see ordering Weisz around is... well... moi, actually. :p But if she were a captain and a peer of Kirk's, she could challenge him in that, as a youngun, he'd really have to prove himself to gain access to her ship.

Make it so!

I recently watched her play the philosopher Hypatia in "Agora" - she was great...

Do it do it do it! President of the UFP! :bolian:

Or the captain of another Starfleet ship. Something human, and in a position of power.

Excuse me but what do you (considering the stances that you take) have against aliens?:vulcan:
I have no idea which stances Gaith might take (nor whether the issues involved are really pertinent to discussions in this forum) but I suspect--and at least one or two others in this thread have expressed similar sentiments--that he'd prefer to see Weisz as a human character primarily because that would mean that her appearance would not be obscured by a great deal of makeup or alien prosthetics. She's not unattractive.

She could be Pike's attache, and it could be implied some how that she is Number One--like have her do some massive calculations in her head or some such.

Exactly, though I'm not sure that Dusty wasn't being facetious. ;)

Because that's not officially her name. And, as I seem to recall, she had several other aliases before New Frontier.

But certainly they could call her that;, my point was that there should still be some kind of distinguishing feature for those not knowledgeable about the written Trekverse.

That's the thing, though. To those who have never read NF, the name will mean nothing (and thus will be harmless), but those who HAVE read it will recognize it.

It's the same reason why the hitchhiker in ST XI could, and should, have been Sam Kirk. There's no harm in it.

Nyota was never officially Uhura's name, either, until STXI made it so (heh). No reason why Abrams and co. couldn't do something similar with Number One.

Personally, I think Weisz would make a great love interest/verbal sparring partner for Urban's McCoy. She could still be captain of another Starfleet vessel, but I can't see Kirk at his current age matching up with her nearly as well as Bones would.

Should could play a Vulcan Ambassador, that gets kidnapped by Klingons, Kirk and crew go to rescue her, of course there would be some interaction between Spock and her at some point.

Anyway she has my vote, how could you not want this in the next movie

Oh my God!!
She in a red shirt, she in a red shirt. Noooooooo.

she should play kirk. it'd shake things up a bit!
Yes, have her (or anyone) replace Chris Pine in the next movie. She a much better actor and almost as pretty. In the last movie, counting Pike the ratio of Starfleet male to female lead actors was six to one, this is a good idea.

I think they should cast her as Dr. Carol Marcus, that could prove quite interesting.
shouldn't Dr. Marcus be the same age as Kirk?
Carol Marcus as a MILF?
