Complete score released

Yeah, but by that token would should stay away from "Looking forward". Kritzerland.com pulled out the real winner here this morning, not Varese Sarabande.

If you say so.

Kritzerland.com pulled out the real winner here this morning, not Varese Sarabande.
I've never heard of Kritzerland.com before right now. What have they done which makes you say that they've "pulled out the real winner"?

Scanning the track listing for the set, it does look like it's been expanded by quite a lot.

As I posted on trekmovie.com, I'm wondering if they'll have some of the tracks be presented the same way as they were edited for the film. Enterprising Young Men has a few extra notes, and Nero Fiddles has a more more focused vocal performance.

I hope they include Nimoy's voiceover, which was left off the first album.

Why? This is a release of the score, not an album of Mr. Nimoy's performance.

There are some who complain that the TWOK complete release still had Nimoy's voiceover.

6 of one, half dozen of the other. They can't win !!!

Since the original CD did not have it, I see no reason for them to add it, but if they did, I still have the OST :)

Either-Or.

I was underwhelmed by this score. The composer overuses his "main theme" in virtually the same orchestration. This gives the film little depth or texture musically.

^ That was my only problem and fault...it does get annoying listening to that all the way and in nearly all the tracks. Hopefully in the next film Michael gets away from using it so much but I really enjoyed it other than that. I'll be getting this.

The Blu-ray of the film does not have a chapter listing in the foldout.

I do realize Giacchino titles his own track names.
Can anyone confirm if any of the chapters on the 2009 DVD or Blu-ray release are called the same as the track names of Star Trek: The Deluxe Soundtrack?
I couldn't find a list of chapter names for the DVD/Blu-ray.

What about iTunes?

I'm not sure if it will be on iTunes. I don't believe the TWOK Deluxe Soundtrack is on there either.

Hmm. I suppose I can make do with the original version (I only buy music through iTunes now - no CDs anymore), but I would really like to have the complete release.

I do remember iTunes treated the original ST XI soundtrack rather poorly - they yanked it off the store listing, then put it back but with the first track gone! (It's since been restored.) Hope they don't do that this time.

Does iTunes usually carry Varese's Soundtrack Collector's line of CDs? I thought these things generally were limited to the number pressed, and that was it.

Either way, I prefer physical media, so I've ordered this. I need to pick up the TWOK deluxe edition at some point, too, but it's not a limited release so I can wait.

Why would these match the chapter titles for the movie?

That's about the size of it. Die Hard, a soundtrack I've wanted for years, has been sold out for almost a decade since it's initial release and has had no reprinting or other forms of distribution since. This has also happened to Predator, but I managed to grab a good copy off of Ebay.

Either way, I prefer physical media, so I've ordered this. I need to pick up the TWOK deluxe edition at some point, too, but it's not a limited release so I can wait.
I always prefer the tangible (another word for physical) mediums. If I lose my music on my computer's library and my devices don't have the songs, I'm screwed. With my CD collection, it's a genuine backup. Two sources available at the same time.

P.S. You might also want to grab the Star Trek III expanded edition. I've recently listened to all the tracks, and in regards to the presentation of the music compared to the expanded TWOK release, it's way better.
