You know what I really love about this episode, especially in the beginning (watching it now, paused it to write this) is that it shows the doctor is fallible, and is not "God" or perfect. He can be taken down by some gas, and the decontamination can take away the things keeping him alive. I loved him asking for Celery after that scene :D

I am really getting a classic Doctor Who vibe from this entire season, and from this 2 parter especially. I'll have more input once I finish the episode.

Wow, that had me on the edge of my seat! Brilliant!! :techman:

And poor Rory, he was really coming into his own as a time traveler. I wonder how that affects what he's done so far this season - with Prisoner Zero, the capture of Alaya, and does this then mean they never went to Venice and stopped the fish aliens?

I love Matt Smith more every week. He is so brilliant in the role of the Doctor!

I think I'm gonna go watch that again. :)

Another enjoyable episode and it would seem that at least I'm partially correct that the events at the end of "The End of Time Part 2" are responsible for creating the spacial cracks and as suspected everything is being revealed as we go along.

Why is everyone saying this? We know when the explosion is: June 26, 2010. We know when Ten (started) regenerating and blew out the TARDIS with grade-A Vinvocci radiation: January 1, 2005. The piece of the TARDIS matched the current model, not the RTD one (the brighter blue, the type was raised and not recessed, and RTD's plaque was more metallic-looking), and the door with the plaque was still very much in one piece after the explosion and subsequent crash.

No, it's Eleven's TARDIS that blows up. The question is, why. Actually, the question is, why on Amy's wedding day, even when she doesn't have anyone to get married to anymore? That day isn't special any more (except in that it obviously is in some way we don't know yet).

Yessss, another mention of more rooms in the TARDIS, the sickbay is upstairs hehe, now if they'd only show it!

Wow, I did NOT see Rory's death coming, out of left field, nice twist

So the TARDIS must explode at some point eh

This was a really great 2 parter, and this episode was awesome

I love the new, or should I say old, feel to Doctor Who, Matt is a great Doctor

A+

it's 2010, and Brittain has it's 1960's Star Trek, with modern CGI and special effects, on steroids! Brillaint! Great story, great writing.. a must have season on DVD!!

I love being called dumb when posing a theory it just makes me feel so warm inside...I did point out that it was a theory and I also conceded that I would be proven wrong. No need to be aggressive in pointing out people's opinions or theories there...

Wow...I was being sarcastic...
Oh. Sarcastic. So you're saying that your last post...
I love being called dumb when posing a theory it just makes me feel so warm inside...I did point out that it was a theory and I also conceded that I would be proven wrong. No need to be aggressive in pointing out people's opinions or theories there...
....means that you hate being called dumb because it makes you feel cold inside. But that you did point out that it was a fact and you refused to concede that you could be proven wrong. And that there's a strong need to be aggressive in pointing out people's opinions or theories.

Well, okay then. :techman:

I was being sarcastic about being offended about being called dumb...I'm sorry I didn't specify. Back to the thoughts on the episode...

10/11's TARDIS blowing up seemed a little random.

What if 11's TARDIS in a few episodes goes back to ram it's younger self becuase this was the only way that he would meet Amy? or maybe 11 in a couple episodes was trying to Hijack his own meeting with Amy for a Do-over? And then they spend 17 years "together" between season 5 and 6.

Meh?

Bring back L'll Amelia.

Sooner or later she's bound to say "Uncky Davros."

If 11 was attacked by his older self, that screams Valeyard that the young doctor would strike back against any aggression form the future even if he had to do so through his alternateselfs dreams.

2 Questions because I found a problem with Matt Smith and this is important, and I saw the scene probably ten times before I gave up and thought maybe I could get help here.

My problem with Matt Smith? He kinda talks too fast, and a lot of what he says sounds kind of rambling. As for the two questions

-What was it he said in Amy's Bed Room about Cracks in the universe and three......something.

-Was it the Angels he brought up that knew with Prisoner Zero or someone else?

Hell, if anyone wants to transcribe that whole Crack sequence or can point me into a direction where I could find out, I would be grateful. Unfortunately that is a lot of work, and I've come to not really expect it? :(

Anyway, the Crack part of the episode was great, if a bit too fast. I'm really intrigued by the whole thing, but man Smith, Slow down. I was not expecting Rory's death at all, but that scene was great, and the Reset button was actually logical and worked into the story. Most times they do it just for the sake of doing it, but here it was drawn out and played to a much stronger effect. I don't think the actual Death saddened me as much as Amy not remembering it. I'm still getting a Remember Me Vibe with the Crack storyline, with the Crack being the Warp Bubble, and now, instead of Amy, the Doctor playing Beverly Crusher. I'm very much interested in where this whole thing goes. Maybe season 5 hasn't been as good as other seasons (Personally, I've been loving it, but wouldn't rank it above season 1 or 4), but this whole recurring Arc is interesting.

As for the Slurian storyline, it was ok. Satisfying conclusion, even though when the Crack appeared, the storyline almost seemed instantly forgotten. I really did love the alien atmosphere of it all though.

I believe that the Doctor was talking about the Angels knowing was an implication...because they were laughing at him. Bob Angel says this to the Doctor.

So Ten caused the cracks when he regenerated in the TARDIS. Its all slowly coming together...
for what its worth all signs point towards that.

Nope, Ten didn't cause the crack.

If you looked carefully, the fragment was an exact match to Eleven's new TARDIS. Also, the crack seem to be getting thicker as we get towards the series finale, so I suspect something Eleven is going to do in the future would cause the TARDIS to explode. I guess thats why the final episode is called "The Big Bang". And the crack radiates from the point of explosion into both the past and future, along the TARDIS' trajectory.

Was going to give it good but the finale made it Excellent though how did Lea dye from a taser ?. Rory is gone from memory but his actions cannot be? otherwise well events change from previous episodes and then things don't make sense...

grr time travel

Because tasers can kill if a person is hit over and over by one which is what she did.

Excellent episode. The death of Rory was handled wonderfully; I've been avoiding spoilers, and it really came out of nowhere for me.

I have to admit that even though I'd thought that Amy's fixation on the Doctor was unhealthy and that the Doctor probably had ulterior motives for bringing Amy aboard, "Amy's Choice" made it clear that the Doctor does have some romantic feelings for her, and I had been shipping Amy/Doctor a bit. I'm wondering how the erasure of Rory will affect the Doctor/Amy relationship -- and at the same time, I find myself unexpectedly sad, as I found myself simultaneously shipping Amy/Rory (which turned out to be a much sweeter and more organic relationship than I'd thought it would be).

Makes ya wonder what's going to happen when the Pandorica opens.

Another awful episode to finish off a very bad two parter.

But at least that whiny prat is dead now and hopefully for good.

But i have got a really bad feeling there's going to be a deus ex machina that's going to resurrect the useless moron.
