Betelgeuse is, of course, a real star, Alpha Orionis, whose name was given it by medieval Arab astronomers quite a few centuries before Douglas Adams (or Tim Burton) was born.
What has Tim Burton got to do with Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?
Betelgeuse is, of course, a real star, Alpha Orionis, whose name was given it by medieval Arab astronomers quite a few centuries before Douglas Adams (or Tim Burton) was born.
Tim Burton directed a movie called Beetlejuice in the '80s.
Why is A Stitch in Time is just in the Connected section, instead of the Secondary continuity section? Especially since the Secondary continuity list includes The Lives of Dax (also published before Avatar), Terok Nor trilogy (heavily includes the Oralian Way, which was originally introduced in A Stitch in Time), and Prophecy and Change ("The Calling" is a sequel to ASIT)? Also, apart from being directly referenced in Avatar, ASIT established Garak's role in the post-Dominion Cardassia that was referenced in the later books, includingThe Never-Ending Sacrifice, and, from what I've heard (haven't read it yet), the Cardassian story in Worlds of Deep Space Nine?DS9
The post-Finale Deep Space Nine literature has the most intricate and complex continuity of all the Trek novel lines. To acommodate this, the core-novels will be listed as either part of the "Primary Core Continuity" or the "Secondary Core Continuity." The "Primary core continuity" is the "main" DS9 story, and the "secondary core continuity" are books and stories that aren't a part of the main story, but were released with deliberate connections to it.

The Lives of Dax -- While completely consistant with the post-finale fiction, the Audrid and Joran tales are of particular interest to the DS9 series as a whole. It should also noted that rhe charater T'Pau inthe Lela tale can not possibly be the T'Pau from TOS and ENT due to inconsistancies with her age.

Thanks!Bravo, Turtletrekker!
Next time you feel like adding to this, my annotations for Losing the Peace are here:
http://wleisner.wordpress.com/about/annotations-losing-the-peace/
I also plan to re-post my lost annotations for Out of the Cocoon in time for the tpb release.
hIs 24-hour edit period is up, so I added it.
To Dayton Ward: According to Memory Beta, you once had annotations for "The Aliens Are Coming", "Almost, But Not Quite" and Things Fall Apart, but the links are bad. Do they still exist elsewhere?
To William Leisner: The same Memory Beta page says that you once had annotations for The Insolence of Office as well as Out of the Cocoon. Will we see them again with the (hopefully) eventual release of Slings and Arrows in trade?
I also plan to re-post my lost annotations for Out of the Cocoon in time for the tpb release.
To Christopher: The direct link to your "Brief Candle" notes on this page doesn't seem to work.
Thanks for the info. Will add to addendum (Addaddendum?).To Dayton Ward: According to Memory Beta, you once had annotations for "The Aliens Are Coming", "Almost, But Not Quite" and Things Fall Apart, but the links are bad. Do they still exist elsewhere?
"The Aliens Are Coming"
"Almost, But Not Quite"
Things Fall Apart
(I've edited the Memory Beta page, so the links there are correct now, too)
I did catch the earlier reference, which is why I said "as well as", but I could've been clearer. The question was specific to the eventully seeing annotations for The Insolence of Office. To William Leisner: The same Memory Beta page says that you once had annotations for The Insolence of Office as well as Out of the Cocoon. Will we see them again with the (hopefully) eventual release of Slings and Arrows in trade?
He said earlier in this thread that he plans to re-post those for OotC at least:
I also plan to re-post my lost annotations for Out of the Cocoon in time for the tpb release.
Really? The link from Christopher's page? I still get nothin'.To Christopher: The direct link to your "Brief Candle" notes on this page doesn't seem to work.
Works for me.
Yes. Probably well before. To William Leisner: The same Memory Beta page says that you once had annotations for The Insolence of Office as well as Out of the Cocoon. Will we see them again with the (hopefully) eventual release of Slings and Arrows in trade?
"Almost... But Not Quite" by Dayton Ward, in Strange New Worlds II.
Alhough it shouldn't count, didn't Jean Lorrah's Andorians/Theskians from... TNG Metamorphosis reference old Andorian fanfics?
