So will we learn what The Dominion has been up to for the past 5 yrs?

I was just wondering if there are plans or mentions of seeing them anytime in the near/not-to-distant future?

I'd hate for Odo's efforts to not have borne some fruit over the past 5 years...

The Federation could use some good news.

I doubt we'll hear from the dominion any time soon - unless it's covered in flashbacks in the DS9 Typhon Pact book.

The major development regarding the dominion - presented, most likely, in 2011-2012 - will be its war with the ascendants.
However, the dominion won't play a significant role in alpha/beta politics in the foreseeable future (meaning no significant role in future books) - the typhon pact and the wake of the borg genocide are enough to cover the 24th century books for some time to come.

Yeah, but it'd be pretty cool to find out what's been going on in that quadrant. Maybe a Star Trek: Dominion series.

If nothing else, it'd be more trek to read...

the war between them has ended by the time Ghemor appears to the Ascendants. Granted, we don't know at exactly when in time the Prophets sent Ghemor.

This is something that I hope will be picked up on in a future DS9 novel down the line. For one thing it seems necessary in order to bring Odo back into the mix. Possibly after the initial group of Typhon Pact books the next DS9 offering can deal with this at least in part.

The war between the dominion and the ascendants was nowhere close to over. The only thing established was that the ascendants had difficulties gathering due to the ongoing war.

Uh, yeah. The way I read that was that the war hadn't even begun until the Gathering was complete. They were all spread across the galaxy looking for false worshippers.

Correct?

I wasn't intending to throw them under the bus with the rest of the Federation and it's current Geopolitical situation, but it would be nice to get an update of what's been going on with them at some point in the forthcoming continuations.

Also, I'd be interested in seeing what the crew of the EVEN ODDS has been up to also.

I think that's about the size of it

I can only hope that someone somewhere is mulling over how to pick up on this storyline. I guess it's possible we might get some hints in Rough Beasts as to future plans for the Gamma Quadrant.

Me too. Hopefully since Tatan'atar appeared to be heading there direction at the end of TSK, they'll pop back up when ever we get back to his story. *crosses fingers* According to Memory Beta, he was also headed twoards the Dominions, so hopefully the same will be true of it.

Remember that it took about 8 books to find out what happened to Jake and we were introduced to the Even Odds crew. Now I don't expect to have to wait quite so long this time round, but it will probably be a while.
