I agree. Best finale I've ever seen. Of course, series finales usually either suck (BSG) or have a lot to bitch about (DS9) so maybe that's not saying much. But it's nice to see one that genuinely rates an Excellent vote. Now if only I could find the actual grading thread in all this chaos.

The finale works a lot better if you watch Lost with your heart and not your head. You need to care deeply that the characters have reunited and not care so much that the confrontation and final death of Smokey was ehhhhh sorta lame. And the island didn't explode! I want my money back!!!

Me too. In the end, it was about the characters, not about some convoluted made-up mythology or action scenes. The characters are the emotionally real part. Does the stuff about stopping Smokey even matter, really?

Loved it. The "clip-show" character montage bits got a little old and were a bit sappy after a while, but on the whole, I really liked the finale. I especially liked the feature-quality score and hearing the classic themes one last time.
