Schematics made with Vance's toolkit

The original toolkit is in .gif-format, which also has no compression-artefacts. But it is patented, so using it carries the risk of legal action by the patent-holder.

the GIF format has been unencumbered by patents for a long time, now. the LZW patent expired in the US in 2003, and all other relevant countries in 2004.

and note that unisys was never going to sue the USERS of software. they're not part of the music industry. :P

I didn't know that. Anyway, png is superior anyway.

Starting with the USS Baton Rogue

Good to see, that you are still working on new and improved schematics!!
After your website stopped working, i thought that you for some reason abandoned us here ;).

No, my fault there. I broke the site at an incredibly bad time. I moved into a house (finally) and everything kinda took a back seat to that. Fortunately, now that I'm IN the house, things will progress forward again.

very nice schematics Sean the Alexander and Johnson are my favs.

btw were the original tool kit parts in .png?

those .jpg ones were a pain to use in MSpaint :(
Why torture your self like that? Download the GIMP for free.

Paint.Net is another good free graphics program. It started out as a simple upgrade to MSPaint, so it has the same general look and feel. It's since evolved into something much more powerful than it appears.

Once you've got it installed, hit the Help menu and sign up for their forums. There are guys there who develop plug-ins of all kinds to further improve on PdN's included features as well as add new ones for unique uses and conditions.

Revisiting the Battlestar Galactica inspired early earth starships, i drew up two very early classes in that lineage. Apart from Galactica, some other classic sci-fi designs influence the look of this ships.

Terrania class deep space explorer (This of course would be in the Enterprises position in this lineage.)

Atlantia class deep space explorer
