Schematics made with Vance's toolkit

Another one:

Bourcier class destroyer (as build, 2235)

This class of destroyer was build with the same promising warp drive configuration, as the Maxwell class explorer. It became soon apparent, that the configuration had some severe drawbacks, which were especially undesirable for ships assigned to Starfleet Military Command. Soon, the ships were assigned to secondary duties and when it was theit time to be refitted, the heavy phasers were exchanged for sensor equipment and the ships were reassigned as scouts.

Another round of updates:

While building my concept of the Constitution as build, i needed to fit the main deflector/sensor enclosed by a dome into the timeline of my ships. I wanted the early Constitution to have one, as she had one in MJs famous scetch - Unfortunately, my uses of this concept did not fit together in my mind so, i need to "retcon" some of my stuff.

My timeline of this feature goes as follows:

Cage style deflector introduced before 2230
In the 2230s experimental use of enclosed deflector/sensor (as Maxwell class U.S.S. Röntgen).
Around 2243 enclosed deflector gets into widespread use.
In 2247, evaluation of the ships with enclosed deflector/sensor - Starfleet decides to revert to Cage style open system.

...and here is the Nimrod class tweaked to conform with this order of events.

2245 - Prototype with enclosed system for primary and secondary deflector/sensor.

2247 - Primary sensor/deflector exchanged for open system.

2250 - Secondary system also exchanged.

2255 - Ship refitted - both deflector/sensor systems upgraded.

..also a new ship:

Walter Mondale class support ship (maybe a laundry ship ;) )

Here's the USS Nebraska. I believe it would be a dreadnought. The warp nacelles are double nacelles which work ok for this ship, because of their placement, but, there is a reason the Prometheus's nacelles are spread apart.

How do ya like it? I also added a few parts for those that like to add to their Toolkit.

Here's bits and pieces.

Interesting design - might be an evolution of the Balson class.
The connection linking the nacelles to the hull look a little too small and weak for nacelles this massive.

almost on topic, two designs obviously inspired by MadMan1701As ships based on Kelvin-components.

Alliance class heavy cruiser

Looks ok cept your warp pylons are severally too small and thin and weak for this design :)

Fantastic ship designs, as usual. :techman:

Although, the USS Walter Mondale? My brain damn near exploded thinking of all the smart-ass things to say, but "Laundry Ship" was pretty good, too! :D

Perfect! A worthy addition.

and three new ones from me:

Kagashima Maru class light transport

Dromond class survey cruiser

very nice schematics Sean the Alexander and Johnson are my favs.

btw were the original tool kit parts in .png?

those .jpg ones were a pain to use in MSpaint :(

The original toolkit is in .gif-format, which also has no compression-artefacts. But it is patented, so using it carries the risk of legal action by the patent-holder.

Personally, I'd love to get the files all in EPS or AI format.

I really hate being restricted to a single size and resolution.

That said, they're bloody cool.

the GIF format has been unencumbered by patents for a long time, now. the LZW patent expired in the US in 2003, and all other relevant countries in 2004.

and note that unisys was never going to sue the USERS of software. they're not part of the music industry. :P

didnt Vance / Janyz say hes ok with people using along as hes credited on the pics we make?

cus i have no problem with that :)
