NBA Playoffs

But the league is better if the Bulls get back to something resembling those Jordan years. More competition = better product.

But as for today... Celtics... WOW! Nice way to start off the series with the Magic! Okay, so that can easily be attributed to a long layoff for Orlando and a momentum preserving series for the Celtics but still......

That game was brutal from the get go. When you're a team of mostly shooters like Orlando, and everyone is cold, you're screwed. That was the first time they saw anything resembling D in the playoffs so far.

His line drive free throws kill me.

Bah. That's nothing in comparison to Perkins. The man is a wonder on the defensive side, but offensively he's often a liability. His moving screens, poor free throws and general horrid vertical elevation kills me.

If that's the best Phoenix has got, this series will be over quickly.

I think their defensive strategy: "Let Kobe Score at Will", needs a little work...

Kobe... may have played the best post-season game of his career last night. Injuries be damned, he was all things that LA needed.

Yeah, but he's a bit player, not the franchise.

Eventhough I respect his game, I've never held Howard as a prototypical franchise player. More like a great player that's a tad overrated...

Howard has a bit of trouble with maturity at times. He's lucky he wasn't tossed from the game, after that stupid shoulder foul. He'd already committed the flagrant foul on Pierce. When he went back to the Orlando bence and tried to plead his cse, Van Gundy just had his face inhis hands and essentially said "just sit down and shut up." Other than this, I tend to think Howard is pretty close to elite status. He needs to broaden his offensive game a bit, but he's outstanding on defense and on rebounding.

Hey, as long as he's "having fun" on the court, that's the main thing, right?

Let other teams win the championship.

Actually, Howard should be the one nicknamed "big baby". :p

Anyone catch those last two minutes of last night's game between the Celtics and the Magic? They turned on one thing: Boston's veteran leadership and experience. IOW a case of "Been there; done that".

Yeah, this is predictably leading up to a Lakers-Celtics final. The first time this happens, it's a good thing (renewing an old rivalry). By now, it's just a sad example of the lack of parity in the NBA.

It's Pau's World. We just live in it.

Seems like a Celtics-Lakers rematch is in the works.

Be fun to watch an anti-matter/matter explosion like that... :)
The Lakers and the Celtics march towards the finals has been as much a case of having the right mindset as it is a case of talent.

No doubt about it. It'll be interesting to see which mindset is more consistently enforced.

My money is on the Celtics in an across-the-board sense.

Although both teams can look shaky now and again.

Nobody outside of LA or Boston wants to see Celts-Lakers for the 48th time. YAWWWWWN! Fuck 'em both.

It's like Pats-Colts. I love the Pats, so I am excited for this every year. No one else is.
