I think Tess is dead. Shame. Cassidy Freeman always did a good job even when the characterization was all over the place.

Looks like Chloe survived though. :techman:

Next episode, a tile falls from the ceiling and hits Chloe in the head as Clark, Tess and Ollie lament.

Yeah, that girl really does have more lives than a cat, I think.

So I guess that Tess was the confirmed causualty we've all been reading about.

You know, what this show could do with a budget...maybe we could get the whole JLA/JSA together in action instead of on a viewscreen.

Decent enough episode. I read soemwhere there would eb a big clue about the villian for next season. The only thing i can think of was what happened with tess and who that person might have been but that doesn't give me any ideas....

According to what my husband said that the old lady at the hospital was Granny Goodness. She works with Darkseid from Apokolips.

Stupid post problems...

I can't get too excited for Darkseid because the finales to the DD and Zod storylines have been so disappointing. Call me Mr. Negative tonight.

Hawkman/Martian Manhunter will probably swoop in and save Clark

I'm leaning toward Granny Goodness too. Plus, she had a dog NAMED Mercy.

I've been thinking Darkseid as well, but who was after Ollie in the air-vent crawlspace?

I have to agree with you Pipes that even though this was marginally better than the Doomsday debacle, it was still an underwhelming (and somewhat rushed) fight sequence. Does anyone remember Titan? Now THAT was a great fight, probably the best that Smallville has ever done.

At least Chlo survived, that does make me happy. I'd be just as happy if they never find Clark's body.

Darkseid's soldiers? Or maybe female furies or whatever they are called

So what's the consensus of the episode from all of you east coasters? I take it it was only a slight improvement over Doomsday. I'm reading the Granny Goodness comments and am thinking these are along the lines of what they would probably do for season ten. Is Tess dead? Cassidy Freeman has resigned...she was part of the official resignees reported a few weeks ago. It seems from what I read that Chloe survives and so I called her coming back in a reduced role next year!! Did they show the flash forward?

Since the episode has now aired, it can be revealed from Beeman's blog that Alison will be in a handful of episodes.

Also, Alison Mack. It was amazing to see her again. She was just a girl of 18 or 19 when the show began. Now she is a woman, so mature and together. She was going through some changes on this episode, because she was choosing to move on from the show. It looks like she’ll be back for a couple of episodes but not full time. She and I got to talk about the experience of leaving behind something that you’ve grown so attached to.
