    Hey all,

I'm interested in getting into the modern Green Lantern stuff, since Johns rebooted it, but figuring out how the reading order weaves between this different mini- and maxiseries is baffling. I've done some research, and this is what I've come up with. (I'm sticking just to trade paperbacks only.)

    1. Green Lantern: Rebirth
    2. Green Lantern: No Fear
    3. Green Lantern Corps: Recharge
    4. Green Lantern: Revenge of the Green Lanterns
    5. Ion: The Torchbearer
    6. Green Lantern Corps: To Be a Lantern
    7. Green Lantern: Wanted, Hal Jordan
    8. Ion: The Dying Flame
    9. Green Lantern Corps: The Dark Side of Green
    10. Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War, Volume 1
    11. Green Lantern: Tales of the Sinestro Corps
    12. Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War, Volume 2
    13. Green Lantern: Secret Origins
    14. Green Lantern Corps: Ring Quest
    15. Green Lantern: Rage of the Red Lanterns
    16. Green Lantern Corps: Sins of the Star Sapphire
    17. Green Lantern: Agent Orange
    18. Green Lantern Corps: Emerald Eclipse

After this is Blackest Night, I think? I have no idea what order the 10,000 Blackest Night things should go in.

You might want to add Tales of the Green Lantern Corps TPB that introduced Nekron, who plays a big role in Blackest Night. And if you haven't read Emerald Twilight TPB I would recommend that what too, though I guess its not essential reading because you'll get a recap of a lot of that story in the others you already have on your list.

That list is a good list of the Geoff Johns era Green Lantern. The Blackest Night trades are up on amazon and I'm pretty sure wikipedia has a listing of their collected order.

Jesus-- eight trades!? Is this the kind of situation where they all happen simultaneously, so order isn't a big deal?

I have previously used this amazon list by Drake as reference for figuring out what to read next. (He has updated it with the Blackest Night material too).

It does not have the Ion trades that were mentioned above - and I haven't read it either. What's the Ion story about?

Also before you start reading rebirth, (Or somewhere within the first 4 trades of it), you should read DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore. The "Mogo doesn't socialize" and the Ysmault storyline is a very important precursor to knowing some of the things that happen in Geoff Johns' storyline.

    Hope this helps.

Ta, thanks all! I've got some Sandman and Batman stuff I want to read first, but I'll get there eventually.

The replacement lantern, Kyle as Ion. The stories themselves has very little to do with the one in GL and Green Lantern Corps besides the ending.
