MLB Talk - 2010 Season

Man, I can't help but feel sorry for fans of the other birds in the AL East. Baltimore just can't seem to catch a break. They've been getting steadily worse since '97, and now they're sitting in the absolute basement. It's pretty sad.
And yet they'll get at least a split in their series against the Twins.

I went to the first game of the Twins/Baltimore doubleheader on Saturday. It was my first time at Target Field. While I love the new ballpark, it didn't quite live up to all the hype (I guess that wasn't really possible). But even watching the Twins get nickle and dimed to death by lowly Baltimore on a cold day (a few snow flakes, but the sun did come out for a while) beat sitting in the Metrodome.

The first 7 times I went to the Metrodome, the Twins lost. I hope that trend isn't repeating itself at Target Field.

Very nice  I was tracking most of the game on MLB.com. I wish I had the chance to actually watch it.

What makes it even more impressive is that it was thrown against the Rays and not some shit team

Well I gotta give Braden this much - his no-no was against the Rays, and any team who knocks the Rays out of first place can't be all bad. :techman:

Anyone who bitches about A-Rod can't be a bad guy, and now he just bought himself all of the cred to bitch as much as he pleases.

No, he was being a pretty big douche. It was actually somewhat funny to watch him frothing at the mouth

I highly doubt that he could ever out-douche A-Rod.
Your doubts are in error. Trying to start a brawl for no reason at all is about as big of a douche move as you can get in baseball

Now maybe Braden will shut the fuck up about A-Rod walking across the mound.

THIS.

The pitchers mound is the pitchers territory. Period. You don't cross it. Now while I may not agree at the pettiness of Braden's comments, AROD should have apologized after the game, instead of mocking the kids comments. It doesn't matter whether its Dallas Braden, or Cy Young himself, its a respect level. And A-Rod doesn't seem to have it.

Now the kid has all the cred he needs. Good job man.

Unless you're starting a brawl with A-Rod, in which case you are a National Hero.

My only regret in that scenario is that A-Rod didn't bite and then get his head bashed in with a bat.

Ahuh...right. Good to know you condone murder over a sport :borg:

Er, no, its not

Good. I'm glad we were able to come to this understanding.

Well, can't quite understand murder over a sport, but ok

I can't quite understand why you believe (or take literally for that matter) everything you read on the internet. It's almost like you've never heard of the term "hyperbole".
I can't believe that someone would pass judgment on someone, even if they didn't really do anything wrong

Anyway's moving onto more interesting things, A-Rods reaction

"I've learned in my career, it is much better to be recognized for all the great things you do on the field," Rodriguez said. "Good for him, he threw a perfect game. And better yet, he beat the Rays."
