parts of the united states is in the midst of being socked with either tornado's or massive amounts of rain.

where i live in middle tennesse is having flooding like i havent seen since the late 70's.
iam ok but some of my friends are in not dangerous yet but potentialy so situations.

nope, pretty normal around here, maybe a bit on the warm side for this time of year, however that is coming from one of the worse winters we've had in a while, breaking record amounts of snow and cold temperatures, we had a total of 80+ inches of snow this past winter

According to our local newspaper April was warmer than usual

IF you feel like the cold weather is taking its time to arrive in Hobart this year, you're not imagining things.
Hobart has experienced it's equal warmest April in 20 years, according to meteorologists at weatherzone.com.au.
The average minimum temperature was a high 11C, two degrees above the long-term average.
And the average maximum was also high, at 19C.

However the last sentence states

Mr Terry said that in the next week an intense cold front will push through southern Tasmania, with wind and rain to follow.

I'm in north Georgia, so it was close. Parts of Arkansas, western and middle Tennessee really got screwed. Over 12 inches in many spots, not to mention the tornaders. Yikes.

I'm in Memphis, and it was terrible here earlier. It's been quiet for hours , but will be picking back up sooner or later.

Not particularly, though it has been drier than usual here the last four months or so, though that seems to be coming to an end, and in the South Island there's been torrential rainfall causing flooding over the past week.

Not insane weather, but a bit odd. It has been pleasant t-shirt weather here for about a month or so, and rainy. A nice break from the heat and droughts we've been going through the past few years.

I am in Nashville and we are getting the crap kicked out of us. We have flooding and wind damage. There have been several threats of tornadoes. Roads are washed out. Several rivers are up. People have been evacuated. One person even drowned after being trapped in a car as south I-24 flooded yesterday afternoon. It has been a nightmare. I also spent most of last night and this morning without power. Cell service is all over the place. The cable and internet have been sporadic so I have been relying on a portable radio to keep me updated.

But the worst thing is that it is still raining and looks to be until sometime tonight. They are estimating flooding in some areas to be fifteen feet or more! I have lived through several hurricanes and this mess is a close second to one of those. Thank the monkey that I live on the sheltered slop of a hill and in a second floor apartment. I am safe and dry for now.

Worst winter in 30 years, blizzard in March, heavy hailstorms in April and single digit (C) temperatures in May? yeah I think so.

I live about 40 miles north of Syracuse, NY. We haven't had insane weather this spring, but the past winter was one of mildest (read: least snowy). This is a snowbelt where we typically get a lot of lake effect snow. But there was so little of it this year, it's pretty much a certainty that the ground water supplies will fall short this summer.

put frightening with it too..
i have a friend who lives near there but luckily on a lot higher ground.
people are having to evacuate through the area.

so far i am ok though for awhile i had a creek through my back yard though normally i dont have a creek.

i wish it would stop raining.
:(

Looking at TWC right now. What a nightmare!

The Oswego River and/or Lake Ontario would have to rise about 20-30 feet at least to pose a threat where I live.

I live off I-24 one exit up from there poohka! And I can't tell you how many times I have driven past that building! I never would have thought in a million years that it would one day take to the interstate.

But again I am high ground and in no danger. I have just been forced to watch (and hear) all the emergency vehicles scream past in the last 24 hours. When you are stuck/trapped on the sidelines as an innocent bystander you can't but feel completely helpless.

And it has got to stop raining! It is still raining buckets as I type this!

Other than raining a lot more than usual, it's been pretty good here. On Wednesday though, I was at work and at about 11:40 in the morning, we had a downpour which didn't last long. That was a bit weird, especially right after when the Sun came out.

Not at the moment, but we're already about 25 inches above normal for precip this year here in the Mid-Atlantic region. I imagine low-lying coastal areas will see more than their usual amount of flooding as the Spring/Summer thunderstorm season rolls in. On the upside, at least there will be no drought this year, so that's good.

Sort of. One day it's cloudy, windy and chilly, the next day it's sunny windy and chilly, the next day it's sunny windy and mildly warm (like now), then it'll rain with wind, then it'll rain without wind. Then it'll get so hot you want to die (between 99-108 degrees), but this change isn't expected for another month.

Hopefully.
