Their other roles...

Don't forget Shatner's two classic TWILIGHT ZONE episodes: "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" and "Nick of Time." Long before Kirk, Shatner earned a spot in tv history when he spotted that gremlin on the wing of his plane!

Here's a scene with Kate from Remo Williams. Also notice Patrick Kilpatrick (from DS9's Seige of AR-558)

Brent Spiner as Bob Wheeler. Hard to believe that Data went from Earth's dumbest hick to Earth's smartest AI.

LOL...I totally forgot about that. And what about "God" on star trek? Didn't that dude, George Murdock, play a PI on Barney Miller, a doctor on oldBSG, an admiral on TNG, and GOD? I actually liked all of them!!

Rob

They're recurring rather than regular, but since the OP mentioned Penny Johnson...

John Vickery AKA Gul Rusot from three episodes of DS9 and a couple of other Trek roles was great as Neroon and Mr Welles in Babylon 5.

Also, Michelle Forbes as Admiral Cain in Battlestar Galactica (2003).

UH FOLKS! How come nobody mentioned Patrick Stewart in the 1984 film "Dune", or Marina Sirtis in the Sherlock Holmes episode "The Six Napoleons" in 1986?

James

I remember Michael Dorn from CHIPs, seeing Frakes on a few cop shows (namely on Hill Street Blues), but probably the most memorable was Patrick Stewart in the movie Excalibur.
It obviously wasn't so memorable to me, since I can't remember who he played or that he even was in the movie.

I do remember him well, however, as Sejanus in I, Claudius (with a curly wig, and looking big and beefy - his co-stars must have been very small...)
Well, I saw "I Claudius" in 1977, "Excalibur" - he was Leondegrance(sp) Guinevere's father- when it came out (memorable 1st date movie with my husband) and "Dune", long before TNG came out. It took a while to get used to Sir Pat as a Starship captain - I was always waiting for the backstabbing and political hijinx of Sejanus to start :)

Marc Alaimo as:

- The alien who poses as a hitchhiker in The Last Starfighter but is 'unmasked' when he walks past the video game

- A police captain in the Watts Riots episode of Quantum Leap

And speaking of QL, Scott Bakula of course. His future ENT costar - and my favorite actor of all time - Vaughn Armstrong appeared in one episode. He played Fred Trump (Donald's father).

^ Yep. He played the Scorpio Killer.

He was also in an EXCELLENT episode of the 80's Twilight Zone where he played JFK.

Do any of you remember Morgan Woodward in the series "Dallas" as Punk Anderson or his "Gunsmoke" appearances as Bear Sanderson or later in "Gunsmoke, To the Last Man" as Sheriff Abel Rose?

No, but I remember him from Cool Hand Luke, three episodes of Logan's Run, and that horse race episode of The Planet of the Apes (which also featured John Hoyt and Mark Lenard).

Actually, there are quite a few POTA/Trek connections. Most memorably, the two best gorilla generals were played by Trek actors, James Gregory as Ursus (in Beneath) and Mark Lenard as Urko (in the series).

He was also in Hellraiser - but while I love the movie, I didn't care for his clueless wuss of a character. However, he was great in the scene in which he played the villain who had taken over his character's appearance. :bolian:

The show HOW THE WEST WAS ONE had a TREK fan's dream cast. Shatner and Ricardo Montebalm are in the same episodes. Richard Kiley shows up, Mark Lenard shows up, Bibi Bisch, Morgan Woodward..the best? When Harris Yulin (the cardassian from Duet) is trying to kill Data's mom, Flonna Flannigan!!!

Scott Bakula did a VERY over-the-top comedic guest spot in the cleverly titled ("The Taking of Pablum 1-2-3") two part season 5 opener of the TV series "Dream On" in 1994. He played one half of a brother and sister team of psychotic screenwriters who kidnap the main character (a book editor) to try to get their script made into a movie. I haven't seen much of "Enterprise", but from what I have seen, I would imagine his yelling, frothing-at-the-mouth villainy in these episodes is a radical departure from what he did on that show. :)
