Stump the Admiral

Once upon a time... long, long ago, there was poster. He was a great poster. He knew all there was to know of Voyager.

Every so often, he would pop in and dare us to stump him with a question. We never could.

I miss him. So, in honor of his posting memory, I offer my tribute.

Give me a question to try and stump me. Go ahead, try. ;)

Mojo, please don't hurt me if I get 'em wrong. :techman:

OK, I'll give it a shot.

Who turned down the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway before it was given to Kate Mulgrew?

Phooey! I'll have to try again.

What was the name of Chakotay's tribe?

That would be the Rubber Tree People. However, if you follow the worst Chakotay oriented episode ever, "Tattoo", you'll learn that his people were actually infused with knowledge from an alien race his people called "The Sky Spirits". I think they called his tribe "The Inheritors".

Good guess, but no cigar. Chakotay is a descendant of the Ancient Rubber Tree people, but that's not his tribe.

In "Tattoo" I believe that the alien was referring to humans in general as "The Inheritors," not Chakotay's tribe in particular.

No, it was specically the Rubber Tree People.

Alien: (to other Aliens) He claims to be a descendant of the Inheritors.
CHAKOTAY: Inheritors?
Alien: The ones our ancestors chose to honour. I'm surprised you have no memory of the Inheritors. One of our gifts was the memory. If you are a descendent, you should remember.

His tribe's name was Anurabi.

I won't argue with the master. I guess it's open to interpretation. According to "Star Trek: Voyager Companion," we go through the whole series without finding out what Chakotay's specific tribe is called.

Meh, from one companion guide to another, I suppose.

Besides, I'm no master (unless it's Janeway oriented). I'm just having fun with it all. ;)

OK, then, in "The Killing Game," what color was Janeway's outfit in the bar?

White tux in the first scene as she's mingling. Seven is singing "Would it be Wrong" during the while time as Tuvok works the bar.

It's play on a classic Lauren Bacall outfit, and it's a scene teaming in subtext. It's one of my favorites. :techman:

isn't the term tribe used only for the north-american indians, while the central and south-american indians who invented real civilizations are called otherwise? i understood chakotay descended from a people which lived in today's mexico when the spaniards arrived, the maya perhaps. not naming the specific people was probably a smart move, to not hurt vanities.
