Nacelle rear spheres: conjectures.

my copy of TMoST is too old to look at without fatiguing it more.

Mine too: waterstained first ed., first printing: cover has small E model in the blue sky of Yesterday is Tomorrow, and K/S with pink back ground: Empath maybe? Ep guide in back only goes thru S2.

What a great book when I was a kid. Also still have Gerrold's Worlds of ST, which was above me at the time, but still very insightful about drama and writing, now that I get it.

God, I got both of those still to this day. My Mom got them for me around 73 or 74 when I was is elementary school.

The first edition of TMOST was published in mid-1968, between the second and third seasons. "The Empath" was a third-season episode. The 3-foot Enterprise model and the Kirk-Spock photo are early publicity stills.

My copy is so worn out, the binding has split in two.

Duh - oh yeah, no wonder I couldn't place it. Isn't the Enterprise pic the one GR would sign as the Enterprise? Like, "Best wishes, USS Enterprise." Read that somewhere. Wish my college roomate hadn't spilled ASsomething on my book, but oh well. Better n nothin, eh? Go Star Trek!!

I've got that first edition. In pretty good shape, too.

Just the same, I've got a couple of later editions that I don't have to be as gentle with. :D
