So, who put the asphalt chunks behind the bulkheads?

Gagarin

Commander
Red Shirt
Kidding.
But I've noticed, for whatever reason, the show likes to show clumps of black-rock looking things falling from the ceiling or exploding from the walls. On episodes like Damage it looks pretty ridiculous.

Don't know if you had any thoughts on this.

It really does look like chunks of broken up blacktop onscreen, though.

Some special effects or pyrotechnics guy on the show is an a*s for putting that fault within the series.

However, personally, I don't think it asphalt behind the bulkheads, though. I think it was Sub Commander's secret Trellium-D supply.

Haha.
When I finally saw that scene, I said "Oh, she's a crackhead!"

Mmmnope. Archer locked all the trellium in a cargo hold when he found out that lining the ship with it would kill T'Pol.

The FX crew wouldn't have used chunks of asphalt for the :) burnt insulation -- too heavy. More likely painted styrofoam.

what ever they were, they killed Riker too the bastards.

Who put the asphalt there?

I believe it was the same people who put the bomp in the bomp ba bomp ba bomp *AND* who put the dip in the dip da dip da dip.

The jury's still out on if these same people also did, in fact, put the ram in the rama lama ding dong.

But...but they did line the ship with it, didn't they? Otherwise the distortions would wreck the ship...I thought it wouldn't have harmed T'Pol if she hadn't been using it that way. But they did find that one Vulcan ship that had used it and everyone was crazy....I'm confused. Did they use it or not? And if they didn't, what happened to the distortions? I did watch the show, but it's been a while.
I too noticed the asphalt chunks, it seems odd to have 'rubble' in a ship.

Nope, they didn't line the ship.
The distortions kept happening, but they managed to map where they were.

Are they also the ones who put the overalls in Mrs. Murphy's chowder?

Behind the bulkheads is where chef keep the ships food supplies. What you're really
seeing is a four year supply of stale Russian black bread (is there any other kind).

The bulkhead next to Malcolm quarter is filled with unrefrigerated pâté de foie gras.

Ahh, insulation... that's a good idea.

Or the broken, charred remains of the dreams of Star Trek fans?
