a video of why the film sucked

Reason 5 (the car) is petty and pedantic.
Reason 4 (Romulus) was explained in the movie.
Reason 3 (Black Hole) makes no sense on his part and is lacking.
Reason 2 (Vulcan) has some merit, but is overshadowed by his hyperbole.
Reason 1 (Star Trek Reboot) is petty and pedantic.

Sounds like more whining on his part than anything. Sounds like a bitter man who can't cope with what the new movie is.
His opinion isn't really interesting, it's just a rehash of fan minutiae that most people, even hardcore fans like myself, simply don't care about.

his opinion is interesting
People who post anything called "Why ______ sucked *spoliers*" (emphasis mine) rarely have anything interesting to say. Could you point out something specific (preferably by time index) so that I don't miss it as I skim through the vid?

They don't make cars anymore?! NOOOOOOOO!!!!
Oh wait; isn't it the 23rd century? Can't they make replicas of classic cars that are electric or hydrogen powered? Or something else? We can make replicas of cars and airplanes now, they're just expensive.

Oh yea. And he's a dick.

While not ground breaking, a fucking brilliant reply in the comments section:

"Have to comment on all this talk about how the movie was or not in line with "Gene Roddenberry's 'vision' ".
That's probably giving him a bit too much credit. I like ST as much as the next guy (probably more), but GR wasnt a visionary. He wasnt an artist. He was a TV show producer, ie, he was in the business of producing commerical product, not art. He had a couple nice ideas, but we're not exactly talking groundbreaking philospohy here, and they werent even ideas...more like opinions"

The fact that its an ORIGINAL makes it valuable. By your reasoning we could burn all 1st edition books that are centuries old and replace them with digital copies and no loss at all.

He may be a dick but your a moron.

Come on, you've been here long enough to know that you're not supposed to call another poster a moron. Warning for flaming; comments to PM.

Still, the reviewer does get a point for calling NuKirk an A$$hole.

Why? Calling someone an asshole is easy. There's nothing to it. Good people get called assholes by bad people and vice versa, so no. No points awarded.

This is actually better than most of the YooT00b reviews I've seen (for one thing, this guy isn't frothing-at-the-mouth angry--you don't get the sense that the camera lens will need cleaning after they finish recording the segment--and you get the idea that he actually sees daylight once in a while) but if calling nuKirk an asshole is the way to score points, then haven't you already won the internet?

Uh, No.
I was just supposing that the car was a 23rd century replica. I'm a big fan of 60's and 70's musclecars and absolutely hated seeing them destroy that car. I would hope that in the 23rd century that a truly original Corvette would be in a museum and drivable. Not in some Iowa farmboy's barn where it could get scratched or damaged.

Well, the stepdad says on the phone that the car is an antique....

I wish people would stop praising that petty jerk RLM as some kind of genius. He's made some insightful points about Star Wars, but his obnoxious nitpicking over "Star Trek: First Contact" is pathetic. This guy is nitpicking too, but he's not nearly as childish as RLM about it, who says shit like "this is the worst fucking movie of all time" talking about "Star Trek: First Contact". What a douche. Most of the things this guy is criticizing didn't bother me as much as they bother him (although I agree that Nero's motivation was so very weak) so I would say he's overreacting a bit, but I don't mind that as much as someone making hyperbolic statements about something sucking just to be smug.
