Which Alien movie is your favorite?

Mine has to be Aliens and Alien resurrection.

Alien and Alien 3 were good but not as good as the other 2. weird really it normally the 1st one maybe the secong thats the best and the others go down hill.

I saw the first one the day it was released and before anyone had a clue what it was about. I'm glad I went to a matinee, I don't think I've ever been gladder to walk out into the sunshine after a movie either before or after.

The second one lost that element of shock and surprise that the original had, but was still a damned good take on the story. I was disappointed with the third one and lost interest in the franchise at that point.

My favorites are Alien and Alien 3. I never really liked Aliens all that much. Alien Res was half-fun but my least fave.

I do not acknowledge the AvP films.

Alien is my favorite. Aliens is almost as good. I like the other two sequels, but they're not on the same level as the first two films. I have no need to spend time thinking about the awful crossovers with the Predator franchise.

Aliens is my favourite of the bunch. I enjoy Alien and Alien: Resurrection, though not as unreservedly as the second film. Alien3, on the other hand, I saw once, hated, and never bothered with again (despite having the VHS box set).

I loved the first Alien (snuck into it back when it was released and didnt sneak into another R movie for two years after that ) Aliens was just as good for a whole bunch of different reasons.

I like Alien3 but not as much as the other two. Alien Res was a mess, plain and simple and I really dont care for either of the AvP films.

Yeah, this would be my opinion aswell.

I think Alien 3 gets too much critacism from fans, it has a lot going for it, like the setting, the score and of course Sigourney Weaver is fantastic.

Resurrection isn't a bad film either, it's definately more light-hearted than the previous three, but it's an entertaining watch for a couple of hours.

Alien; best sci-fi horror film ever, only rivalled by The Thing and The Fly

Aliens; best sci-fi action film ever, for a long time my favourite film

Alien3; the worst sequal ever, not only an appalling film in itself but spits on the first 2 films and ruins your enjoyment of them, you can't root for the characters in Alien/Aliens when you know it's all pointless. What were they thinking?

Alien 4; a mess but at least it gives Ripley her happy ending and I like the Ripley/Cal relationship. Written by Joss Whedon and you can see the beginnings of Firefly here. Also Kim Flowers has the most delectable backside ever

AvP; raised to a better level by the prescence of Lance Henriksen.

AvPR; shows how much the series has sunk since the great first 2. (like AvP it does however advance the sexual subtext of the creature)

1) and 2) were the hardest to decide. You can easily switch these two. As a general rule, the director's cuts/special editions are often superior to the theatrical versions. This is especially true in the case of Aliens and Alien 3. I even think Alien 3 isn't that bad of a movie in the SE version.
