Ben Browder vs the CW cheerleaders

TV hates me. I've been waiting and waiting for Browder to get another show. Now I have to watch the dumbest sounding new show this fall! :rommie:

HELLCATS (The CW) - Ben Browder ("Stargate SG-1") has joined the cast of the presentation, a drama set in the world of competitive college cheerleading. He'll reportedly play Red Irvine, Lancer University's football coach, "a handsome rogue who never lost the boyishness of youth."

Read the rest if you dare, blah blah soap opera plotline...doesn't the CW realize the 14 year old girls who watch their shows will take one look at godlike Browder and go, "ewww...grandpa!" :rommie:

In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised. It's Friday Night Lights x Glee, and the latter at least is highly successful.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

I actually think I'll watch this train wreck. At least for the 3 episodes that make it to air.

Maybe the CW will make the school's "Glee Club" the popular ones at the school and the Cheerleaders the outcasts... lol

Isn't he too old to appear on The CW? :p
He has to be the grandfather of a teenager to appear on the CW. Jasmine Guy is the same age as him and she was playing a Grandmother to a 16/17 year old girl on Vampire Diaries.

This would only be interesting if a Farscape alien dropped in and the cheerleaders turned into mercenaries for hire posing as cheerleaders.

No, 14 year old girls who were born in 1996 will say, "Ewwwww, chest hair." They all expect their men to be smooth as little girls. Rugged and masculine is out. :lol:

Cheerleading. How sad.

It really does seem like in the past decade or maybe more the trend has been more 'girly' effeminate males being featured for actors or even singers.

Robert Pattinson, baby. Sparkle boy. Nice and smooth. Blech. I've actually read girls making comments about a man needing to "mow his chest" about male stars who only have a small amount of chest hair.

Whatever happened to masculine men? I can understand wanting to take it off your back if you have copious amounts of hair there, but smooth as a baby's bottom everywhere else? No way. In another decade the teenyboppers males will be shaving their pits, I swear they will.

Oh dear God.

Can Claudia Black join the cast too? :lol:

Only if they put her in a cheerleader outfit.

Oh god, I just had a vision of D'Argo as a cheerleader with pom-poms, doing the conga-line dance from one of the Earth episodes. That's gonna stick with me the rest of the day! :eek:
