Loved it, but Don’t Care to Watch it Again

When I watched “All Good Things” when it originally aired, I thought it was great, but I really don’t enjoy watching it over again.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone else have the same reaction?

Are there any other episodes that you would put in this category?

Interesting. I have no problem watching AGT over again. All in all, it's widely regarded as the best of the Finales. For me, I find that the episode bookends the series perfectly and that I look forward to seeing it again as I rewatch the seasons.

For me the only episode in all of Trek that I can't watch again is TATV.

"Darmok"

I loved it. I thought it was brilliant. I don't have a want to watch it again.

I can watch AGT over and over. I always find some new concept or theme. But, I just can't do it with "Darmok".

Ah, Sokath, his eyes uncovered!

The whole of DS9! No, seriously, I know what you mean by there being some things that you enjoyed once but don't have an inclination to watch again. I can't think of any TNG episodes that fall into this category, though. :)

I actually haven't watched an entire Star Trek episode period since ENT went off the air in '05. But I think any TNG episodes I might have problems watching again might be "Masks" and "Sub Rosa" because I don't recall originally liking them that much.

I recently purchased the entire series on DVD and I saw many episodes I had never seen. And although I really like almost every episode there are many which I really have no desire to see them again.

But there are also many many episodes I do enjoy watching over and over.

The good thing is that some of the ones I claim I will not watch over again I will probably watch them in a few years and by that time I may have forgotten the episode so it will be like seeing it for the first time all over again.

But I wont re-watch them at the rate I do other episodes.

IDK, any episode I liked (which is most), I could definitely watch more than once. I think the only eps I wouldn't watch again, were ones I hated.

Such as:
Aquiel
Timeless (VOY)
The Masterpiece Society/almost any Troi-centric episode.

I've seen TOS so many times each that it's basically in that category. Even when watching the remastered versions - which I was eager to see - I found myself forewarding through to get to the new effects.

I thought that "ALL GOOD THINGS" was great way to the end the series, but it would have been for the series to continue for few more years after the seventh season.

I would put most TNG episodes in that category. The first time I saw "Cause and Effect" I thought it was great, albiet a less well-written ripoff of "The Tunnel Under the World," but once you get the "gimmick" of an episode, whether it's a timeloop or time moving at different speeds at different points, then the mystery of the episode is solved and there's really nothing more there under the surface to keep the story interesting on rewatch.

The ones I go back to are the character stories like "Sarek," "Inner Light," and "Tapestry."

Interesting--TNG as M. Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense".

That's exactly the same thing. The Sixth Sense is little more than set up for the "surprise ending." Beyond that, there's not much there. Same with Signs. In fact, the only Shamalan movie I like to rewatch is Unbreakeable..

I had a hard time watching "All Good Things" the first time. Now I can watch it with no trouble.

I guess I couldn't watch it the first time because I felt they were going to really "end" the series, which they didn't, they left the plot line open so we can continue the adventures in our imaginations.

A smart thing to do.

I can't think of any. Every episode I love I must have seen at least 20 time each now, and they never get boring.

Can't think of anything in ST that I loved that I wouldn't want to watch AGAIN. Just seems like a strange question.
