Converting squirrels...

Well, yeah, I get you because the squirrels seem to be on a vendetta, but other people seem to have incredible animosity that I don't understand.

Those are some giant nuts.

Hey! you're in California! Want to help me convert the ground squirrels while you're out there?

I'm in CA, but they've overrun us. In Pasadena, it was "Ooh, look! A squirrel!" They were not that common. In Fresno, however, it's, "There's a squirrel...and there...and there...and there...," etc.

And the ones in my neighborhood are insane. Seems that decades and decades ago, they killed all the local squirrels from downtown up to my area--so some guy got the bright idea to bring some in from Sacramento. Problem is, these squirrels are...squirrely. Totally nuts (no pun intended). They're known for not acting quite right.

The squirrels in our tree eat our apricots and our neighbors oranges. How the hell they haul those 4" diameter oranges --intact--to the top of a 4 foot high fence, I have no idea.

propita, at 2:00 minutes into this video the squirrel tries to open a jar of peanut butter. :D

That is a pretty cool video! I like the biker dude sitting there trying to play a video game with a squirrel climbing all over him. The dude barely even notices him!

I want a pet squirrel now!

The only thing worse than a squirrel is a jedi squirrel.

It definitely varies by area. When I lived in eastern LA county I noticed very few squirrels whatsoever despite the population being less dense. I think they still had plenty of food as oaks and other trees/shrubs/crops were common where I was. But Chicago and New York seems to have a ton. My dog is indifferent to them and so are my cats, but they only became this way when they found out they could not catch them. Squirrels actually fight pretty viciously.
