Ever check under your motel bed for a dead body?

I've never actually stayed in a motel, but I'm guessing this might be one difference between a hotel and a motel? Seems like something Stephen King would imagine for one of his stories. Law & Order will probably "rip" this headline.

Memphis motel rented room containing missing mom's body five times

.....

The body of Sony Millbrook was found hidden inside a metal frame beneath a mattress and box spring after the Budget Inn motel had reported a foul odor inside her old room, the story says. The room had been locked for lack of payment the day she went missing, but the motel had since cleaned out her belongings and rented it five times, the story says.

.....

The woman had been reported missing to Memphis police on Jan. 27 after she didn't show up to pick up her children from school, according to reports. She had five children, according to reports. Her boyfriend and the father of four of her children is a person of interesting, according to reports.

Millbrook's sister, Linda James, meanwhile, told the Memphis Fox TV news team that she'd been fighting the motel to get her sister's room searched ever since Jan. 27.

"I begged. I didn't raise my voice. But I begged," James told the Fox news crew. "I begged that front desk staff to please go check the room and they refused."

Corpse found under motel bed where couple slept

James and Rhonda Sargent never dreamed they were sleeping on a tomb.

They rented room 222 at the Budget Lodge two days after Sony Millbrook was reported missing Jan. 27.

Her body was found March 15 under the bed where the Sargents slept.

The couple said they told the motel staff the room was "stanky and foul." They burned incense but said nothing could cover the odor, although someone apparently had tried, because the Sargents noticed there were fabric-softener sheets stuffed in ceiling tiles and nooks. The smell was strongest when someone sat on the bed.

.....

Room 222 had been cleaned and rented out at least three times since Millbrook, 29, was last seen. Again, police didn't go in the room, but they questioned motel employees about whether there was anything unusual in the room.

.....

The Memphis Police Department is launching an internal investigation to determine if mistakes were made in how the case was handled.

Frank, next time you stay at a motel... *puts on sunglasses* ... check under the bed.

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

I found an aborted/miscarried fetus in the crapper of the Regent Hotel (Sydney, Australia) suite I hired for a party back in 1994. :)

I think that was one of the crimes in the Se7en movie. Wasn't the body of Lust hidden in the metal frame of a motel room bed? Or am I thinking of another movie?

I'm not sure about Se7en, but it happened in Four Rooms.

God that movie sucked.

I usually look under the bed before I leave to make sure I don't have anything hidden down there, usually socks... I might look when I check in now.

None of the murder victims were hidden in Seven. Sloth was the guy who was tied to his bed for a year. But Lust was a bit more graphic than that with the... uh...

having sex with and killing her at the same time against his will.

^ Just out of interest, how does that last one work?

Well, I hope you haven't eaten yet, so:

a man was forced at gunpoint to wear a strap-on dildo with a blade attachment to simultaneously rape and kill a prostitute.

I stayed at a Best Western once and a man was murdered just 2 or 3 doors away. We got in to the motel around 2am and my husband trotted down to the end to get some ice. We woke up in the morning to see the yellow tape and a Crime Scene truck down the way. We asked a maid what was going on and she told us a man had been shot to death last night. It was very close to the time when my husband had gone to get ice. We still stay there on occasion and I always tell my husband to NOT get the "murder room". They caught the murderer and believe it or not, his last name was Rambo. I guess he made no attempt to hide the body.
