Damn, Hoshi is being paired up with every male in the show...! Let me throw in a few Trek characters, that haven't been mentioned: *Sisko-I was thinking the elder Sisko at first, but I'll say Jake/Hoshi... *Shran-She did have a thing for aliens... *Mirror Hoshi/Dukat-Hmmm....(I would like to see some good fanfiction on that...or a Trek otherworlds-like story)... *Hoshi/Bashir-He would have went for her...while still going for Jadzia...
I think Linda was a much better actress than Jolene. But since she didn't have "The Figure," shall we say, she got a lot less attention from the writers (read: Bermaga) and so her character was largely ignored. They could have done so much more with Hoshi, starting with dumping the whole idea of a portable universal translator -- so she would actually be needed during first contacts. As it was, she was pretty much put out of her job as linguist and left her with nothing more to do but open "hailing frequencies." I did like that she became something of a protocol officer in the Andorian/Romulan arc in season 4. Shame that wasn't introduced sooner.
Well, I don't know Berman's and Braga's taste in women, but I can't see anything wrong with Linda's figure. http://www.hollywood-celebrity-pictures.com/Celebrities/Linda-Park/Linda-Park-4.JPG But then, I've never been a fan of big boobs.
Well, she certainly doesn't have Jolene's curves. BTW, Blalock's boobs aren't really that big either...
Even if there was no romance between between Archer and Hoshi I would have liked to have seen their friendship explored more. Hoshi, like Uhura, was sadly underutilized (as has been said before). I guess it just makes the Hoshi-centered episodes more cherish-able.
I don't mean to impugn Linda's figure. I'm just pointing to the fact that Bermaga tend to give more attention to cleavage than to talent (Marina Sirtis leaps to mind).
I just think Linda Park is absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful. And, I have to say, even though it seems to be a minority opinion, that I actually prefer Linda's figure to Jolene's. (Not that I don't admit that Ms. Blalock is a strikingly beautiful woman in her own right! ) Maybe I just have strange tastes when it comes to women's shapes: I always liked Bailey Quarters better than Jennifer Marlowe, too!
Hey, I loved 'The Exile'-it's the only episode that we got to see her be barefoot in...and what pretty feet she's got! Of, if only I was Travis or Malcolm, I'd be trying to caress those pretty feet all night long!!!! Come on, guys-admit it, she's got sexy feet! It's the 'Mary-Ann' syndrome; you're supposed to love or be attracted to Ginger, but you really (and sensibly) have the hots for Mary Ann instead (similar thing exists with Daphne & Velma on Scooby-Doo-people love Velma instead, as do I [I even have her doll!])
Time to stop beating up on Berman & Braga, please? You know that Star Trek's traditionally had hot women-and if you want to really get technical, it was Roddenberry that started it all, not B&B.
Oh, I'll beat up on them, believe me... Just not for this. The way I see it, hot babes are not the B&B thing, nor GR thing, they are the Star Trek thing.
I personally find Jolene to be better looking. But, that's not to say that Linda isn't amazingly beautiful either. If Jolene is a 10, then Linda is a 9.75. I'll will agree with you on Ginger and Mary-Ann. Ah, Mary-Ann. Though I'm going to have to disagree with you on Daphne and Velma. Ah, Daphne (both the cartoon version and Sarah Michelle Gellar).
Imagine if that was Borg Queen for FC. (I'm sure you'll be having a couple of fans--mainly males, obviously--saying how FC is one of the best Trek films to date.) Story flaws? What story flaws? I'm sure Park has nice feet, but I've noticed she has cute legs as well.... I have a slight boot fetish, so it would have been nice to have had Linda in a scene well....showing her in boots... Unfortunately, they wouldn't have the duty skirt option until decades later.... Slow ass Starfleet...
Yes, it's a shame we never got to see Hoshi in a TOS uniform. But I like to think it might have been somewhat along these lines: And might I just add: YUM!
