Hey I met Phlox today

At the Dallas All-Con.

I don't know if there is a running list for Trek celebrities who are nice or who are jerks but you can definitely put him in the "nice" category.

I got him to sign a picture of the cast from the funeral dream sequence from ANISB. It was the first time I ever asked anyone for an autograph. I'm usually just not into that scene but there was no line at his table so I thought I'd go talk to him.

We mainly talked about True Blood. He said that so far he is only in one episode of the upcoming season.

John is adorable, isn't he? I was so tickled to see him in 2012 (even tho' I didn't care for the movie).

He and Connor shared the stage at Creation Parsippany last summer. They were hilarious.

I would love to meet him someday. He seems like a champ. I don't know what I'd want to ask him though... something interesting. I bet he had to field the same questions over and over again.

Actually, he offered to pay fans $1 to ask him questions. Then he'd tell Connor to give him a dollar to give to the fan. Connor soon ran out of singles and told John he only had $20s left. John said, "Give me a $20."
That's where Connor drew the line.

John could take dialogue that was straw and turn it into gold. You were so lucky to have met him.

Very nice. Always liked Billingsley and have seen him in a few other roles. He made Phlox one of my favorite characters with his irreverent sense of timing. He seems to be a genuine guy, a rarity in this business.

Lucky man. Billingsley seems like a good dude, someone you could just sit down and have a pint with.

I bet everybody kept those dollars, too!

They were great together. That was a fun afternoon.

That is so awesome....glad to see some of the ENT actors are still making appearances and running into some of the fans on these boards...I myself have yet to meet any of the Big Seven but hope to someday. :techman:

So did you get a dollar???

I'm glad he's working - he seems like one who deserves to have too much on his plate!

He's a good actor, too. He DESERVES to work on other shows. He tends to make them better when he's on.

Yeah, me too. Before my mom died she was really impressed by his turn as the psychologically disturbed killer on COLD CASE who vanished after the fire that gutted his old childhood home where evidence was allegedly hidden. My mom always speculated his character didn't die in that fire...and that he'd be brought back in a later episode.

I didn't get up to ask a question. The only time I asked a question was at Vegas 2008. Manny and Brannon were on stage (Connor had mentioned his upcoming, as yet unfilmed, appearance on 24) and I asked them "why only one episode" and "what took so long" (to cast Connor). Manny said they hoped it would be more than one ep and that they wanted to give Connor a role where he could shine (and as we have seen, Branny has a peculiar concept of "giving an actor a chance to shine." :scream:)
