aww the letter he wrote to Locke's dad. Recon as in reconaissance? Or to re-con somebody? Sawyer eps usually deliver in some good character development

I'm interested in seeing Sawyer's flashsideways. Wasn't Locke on seemingly good terms with his father in his flash? Just wonder what impact that could possibly have on Sawyer's backstory.

I suppose that would depend on whether Locke's Dad conned James' parent's before or after 1977.

From the clothes at the funeral and Sawyer's approximate age ... I'm guessing before.

Yes, it was before. Sawyer and co. landed in the Dharma initiative in 1974, and he mentions that if he left with Juliet on the sub when she wanted to, he could have stopped his father from killing his mother and himself.

Sawyer episode! I've been waiting a long time for one :techman:

It'll be interesting to see where they go with Sawyer on the flash-sideways (waiting to see Sun and Jin's flash-sideways too). I wonder if he's still actively conning people in the flash-sideways or not. Wonder whether we will see some interaction with millionaire Hurley too.

On the island, I want Sawyer (or somebody) to ask SmokeyLocke, why the temple people had to be killed or had to join with SmokeyLocke. I know that SmokeyLocke wants out. I know that there's a plane on the other island (the ajira flight). Why does he need random island others with him when he leaves? Why does he want Ben too? Also how come he doesn't have Lapidus with him. Does SmokeyLocke know how to fly an airliner? Or is there another way to get off the island.

I also wonder if the whole thing (the entire season/series) is whether SmokeyLocke/MIB "escapes" or is prevented from doing so by Jacob. I would love to see what happens if he does escape too. Far too many movies (The Fifth Element, Hellboy 2) are all about preventing a bad event from happening and we never get to see what happens if the bad event happens - (which is the only redeeming thing I thought about T3-Rise of the machines).

Also - is Jin still with SmokeyLocke? He was badly injured in the bear-trap. He might not be able to walk.

And I'm keen to see what happens between Kate and Claire.

I hope we see Sun and Jin meet up. Would be a nice montage end to the ep.

Oh - and I hope Widmore goes ballistic on SmokeyLocke's ass instead of ferrying SmokeyLocke and the rest out of the island in his submarine. It would make us root for Widmore which would be another weird Lost twist.

While I suspect he needs his recruits for something specific (I suggested in an earlier thread that he needs someone to take over for him before he can leave), I wouldn't be surprised if he just wants to take them with him. The people in the temple (and those who side with them) may be his jailers, but everyone else, who were for the most part drawn to the island against their will, are as much prisoners as he is.

I suspect (and I'll admit I don't have much evidence for this beyond the fact that he was the leader of the Others) that Widmore's loyalties lie with Jacob and the island. If that's the case, he may wind up on the same side as Ben, which is sure to be entertaining.

Maybe he'll take his "smoke" form and act as the "wind beneath the wings" to provide "lift" to the airliner!

Was it a dirt runway tho'? I remember seeing the plane standing way down a long runway. I thought it was a road (and was kinda surprised). So the Others built a runway after the Oceanic 6 left? Who could've built a runway (unless like the lighthouse it was always there)

Also there was some discussion after the Ajira flight lands about the plane - why Lapidus couldn't fly off in it (when SmokeyLocke is talking to the other dude from the Ajira flight)?

Are we frelling there yet?

I think the runway was the project Kate and Jack were working on when prisoners on Hydra Island...

Excellent.

Loved the flash sideways story and the island story was pretty damn good too. When you have Josh Halloway and Terry O'Quinn carrying the story, you know you're going to get a damn good episode. Halloway proved he has chemistry with just about everyone on the show and I liked the Sawyer/Charlotte hook-up. Shame the way it fizzled out.

Didn't expect to see Sawyer as a cop but that works and it's even cooler that he's partners with Miles.

We didn't get a lof of answers tonight but the endgame is starting to fall into place.

3.25/4 Good episode! Great Sawyer material. A side-story that's entertaining. No big battles but a big set-up for a future one between Widmore and Cerebus. Methinks Cerebus killed all the Ajira survivors. I was confused though, I thought the Ajira people were with Ilana and Sun and Frank and Ben, or was that merely Ilana's particular people and not the entire mass?

Excellent episode.

- Sawyer's a cop. That was a surprise.

- Good on him playing both sides on the island. I thought his plan was to go with whoever won.

- Didn't recognize Jodi Lyn O'Keefe at first (were his cop buddies listening to the two of them while they were in bed?).

- We got an alternate Miles story without him getting an episode. Good. This gives me hope that they can work a lot of other details into what time they have left.

- Throughout the series, everyone has been having daddy issues, but it looks like this season is about mother issues. So far, we've had Claire becoming a mother and missing Aaron, Jack with a new wife and mother to his son, Sayid's girlfriend is a mother to someone else's children, Alex lives with her mother, etc. Now we have this episode with lots more mother stuff. I wonder what this all means.

- What tipped Sawyer off that Zoe was conning him?

- Speaking of Zoe, I thought I recognized the actress. It's Sheila Kelly. Loved her pole dancing on Oprah. Don't ask. :o

My first Excellent since the season premire :techman::techman::techman::techman::techman:

Sawyer rocks in every which way! He rocked on his flash sideways (Miles and James LAPD ) and on the island (who is he conning, MiB, Widmore or both like he says)

I still think he's the big damn hero of Lost :techman:

I thought it was kind of average. Nothing too special barring some kick ass Locke scenes (particularly the scene about his mother).
