From SyFy's official announcement http://scifiwire.com/2010/03/james-callis-joins-the-sy.php I really like Callis on BSG (he played Gaius Baltar, for those who don't recognize the name). So I'm cautiously optomistic about this. Callis will also have a recurring role on FlashForward later this season. http://tv.ign.com/articles/107/1072608p1.html
Great news. James Callis is awesome. He was probably my favorite actor on BSG, or at least one of the favorites. It's great to see him again. Flashforward and Eureka have just become more interesting.
Yeah, that's my feelings too. (I wish he could have joined a *better* series...lol. Hell, "V" even, would be cool...)
Good stuff. Now they just need to bring Jamie Ray Newman back... which could work considering Eastwick was cancelled.
My husband makes me watch this show, which I really don't care for at all. Still, now there will be some diversion since I really like JC.
Mine too, but I'll check the show out when he comes on. I thought he'd be onto something bigger than Eureka as well.
I like Callis, I adore Eureka, but I just don't see it being a good fit. I don't think he's the right type of actor.
Callis going to something like Eureka may be a step to better things. Dr. Gaius Baltar was ridiculous and playing a real character might earn him some credit for acting skills. Sort of like Morena Baccarin covering up the silly space ho by segueing into Adria on SG1. Now she's Anna.
I'm surprised by the lack of love for Eureka around here. I think it's a good fit for Callis. Of course, it depends on the character and how well it's written. Despite what they say I wonder if this is really a permanent gig or just a special guest star thing? Eureka has a habit of disposing of people out of nowhere.
