Well guys, it's been a gas, but I'm still feeling the effects of losing an hour of sleep this morning. See you all next week.

"That''s just Milton, don't worry about him."

Seriously, how does some dumpy, greasy, parole officer get into a top-secret government building at 3 in the morning and just get to walk around?

So is he finally going to get it that there is a SERIOUS issue going on, and he needs to wait before he deals with Dana? Unless there's something else going on...but even still, if he's some kind of government investigator, he's unAmerican.

If he's part of a bigger plot, which sent Starbuck's ex-boyfriend out there on purpose, then i guess we'll find out next episode!

As long as Root isn't in on blowing up Manhattan...wait a minute...that'd be the only storyline that could possibly assuage the pain that storyline has brought us all.

Average.

Certainly better than most of the reason has been, but the relentlessly bad Starbuck storyline just keeps 2 girls 1 cupping us every time there's a glimmer of hope that the show's turning the corner and kicking into high gear. People have already outlined why the storyline so awful so I won't rehash it. I can't think of anything within the framework they've set up that would redeem it either.

Poor Katie Sackhoff...she probably auditioned for the show thinking she was going to get to kick ass, and she gets saddled with some of the most awful shit ever written during the show's run.

I like that storyline. I don't know where all the hate is coming from. If she were just another ass-kicking agent, that would have been less interesting.

The hate comes from the insane way that she (and now Cole) have been reacting to the entire situation. And, probably to an even greater degree, the fact that it is completely unrelated to the main threat. Sort of like the ancillary Palmer threads in season three that ruined that season's momentum--and neither Dana nor Cole carry as much audience investment as a David Palmer.

No worries--I openly admit to liking stuff that most people consider awful as well.

The key part of the Dana Walsh storyline is that's it's dull and plodding and makes zero sense. You could argue the same thing about other parts of 24 making no sense and be spot-on correct, but at the very least those fit in with the show. The Dana Walsh storyline is ripped straight out of some crap Lifetime movie of the week and dropped into the show where it doesn't fit at all. It's like trying to drop a 90210 teenybopper plotline into the middle of The Shield or Deadwood.

Sackhoff was commented as saying that Dana was as far from Starbuck as possible and she was glad.

I can understand wanting to try something different but Dana is an awful character. Are we even supposed to like her? Less than five minutes after her introduction, she is thrust into the storyline from hell. How could we even give two shits about the characters after that?

Well, Taran wasn't as crappy a bad guy as I thought.

Jack has to save Bub-ba!
You posted this too soon didn't you?
:rommie:

"OK, now listen closely, hit the brakes hard and put the car in neutral and turn the ignition off."

OK it was an EMP, and our CTU Beige Shirt just got his MP3 player erased, and his pacemaker, and his bionic implants. (THE FUTURE!)

Hastings runs like a drunken geriatric with two artifical hips and a repalcement knee-implant six weeks after getting his legs sewn on backwards.

I thought Hastings was running like he was about to fill his shorts, or he knew where he was when his diarrhea returned.

Oh my god, a 24 episode this season where something actually happens and it's somewhat engaging? Who Knew? I liked this episode. It was gripping from start to finish, minus the Dana Walsh storyline and the EMP was something I did not see coming. Yeah, CTU has been blown up before, but blinding it made this season just a little more interesting.

Still don't like the whole Dana storyline which brings things to a halt. However, there might be hope based on the trailer for next week. I may like it next week.

Above Average, and finally a reason for me to stick on to the end. More needs to be done though to peak the curiosity.

Honestly, I was hoping it was a real bomb and Dana would sacrifice herself to save CTU.

Still, fairly bland... CTU gets attacked again. I've only been watching the last few years but I'm tired of it already. :p

If it was a real bomb and she tried to disarm it, she would've never finished because Milton would've gotten in the way because of his oh-so-urgent quest for information. Either that or she would have been blown up while the timer ran down as she paused to freak out for 2 seconds with 1 second on the timer, leaving Dana chunks all over poor Jack who had to deal with it.

I figure they were setting her up to die since the whole thing unravelled. This gives her an out... although I guess they wouldn't have assumed that everyone hates the character.

Sackhoff is used to crap. She did, after all, co-star in a straight-to-DVD post-apocalyptic movie starring... Don "The Dragon" Wilson.
