Do You Know How To Do Something?

Let's see, I can do statistcal analysis, speak street Spanish, a smattering of Arabic, teaching myself Russian, and of course there is English. I'm a decent cook, I can raise livestock and food crops. I'm an ok shot with my rifles, I can field dress animals, pitch a tent, start fires without matches, other survival skills. Oh, and I'm starting my own cottage industry of making soap.

Wow if the world ever came to an end and the only people left was everybody here we could re-build civilization in about 10 years. We got food, entertainment, transportation and computers. What else would we need? Oh and when we wonder if our life has any meaning, we can go to Kestra for therapy.:)

Don't forget the bone marrow thing. :devil:

Er, did we ever get a firm answer on if that's a profession or a hobby?:eek:

There aren't a whole lot of things that i can do anymore. Ten years ago i could sing, kickbox, sign ASL ( taught ASL for 10 years) . Then arthritis set in along with massive gray matter loss (thank you menopause) so that was the end of the really physical stuff.

I can take decent pictures of a particular subject, but these days, that's about it.

Dear god. I'm pathetic.

One of the things I regret most about having depression most of my life is it has kind of robbed me of the passion to really pursue something. I feel I have no hobbies or talents which help define me as a person. So help me out. What is something that you an do that sets you apart? Do you know how to play a musical instrument? Speak more than one language? Master an ancient Asian fighting system? Brag about yourself a little.
I've had problems with depression all of my life, but I didn't feel like you did until I started taking a certain antidepressant that had that effect on me. When I'm depressed, I find that I'm a much better writer than when I'm not.
In my case, my depression is a side effect of OCD. When I was diagnosed at the age of 18, I started taking a drug called Luvox that pretty much turned me into a sociopath. I eventually got off that, started taking prozac. I take a very small dose of it now, just enough to make the depression manageable.

If you're relying on me for therapy, we're all doomed to insanity.

I'm a professional trained cartographer. I can make maps. And not can I make maps, I'm actually employed as a cartographer.

Well, okay, not really anymore. (I'm in management now). But, I still know how to do it...now I have a 'team' that does it for me. :)

I can also do lumbar punctures, chest drains, ascitic drains, and take blood. No bodily fluid is safe from me. :devil:

I might also say I could do a bladder catheterisation, but that's just taking the piss.

PURITY OF ESSENCE

* At 6 years old, I could write music.

* Back when I worked for a department store I could name every price in the store just by looking at the item and not the price tag. I had memorized every price. I still know them even though that place is now out of business.

* I have perfect pitch.

* I can write an entire song, with meaningful lyrics, and melody, inside of two minutes.
I once did this 8 times in a row. 8 songs in 16 minutes. They all had significantly different lyrics and melodies.

* I can harmonize, in multiple keys, with any music.

* I am a champion speller.

* I can eyeball an image and make it centered in a workspace (like Photoshop) within 3 pixels. I have done this consistently.

* I know when a tornado has touched down within 10 miles of where I'm standing. I have done this consistently. I used to chase tornadoes, and this is how I knew where to go.

* I can cook many dishes, and I excel at cleaning (I'm Obsessive Compulsive).

* I am comfortable with almost any piece of software within five minutes of first use.

* I can listen to a conversation (up to about 2 minutes) and restate it verbatim for up to 10 minutes after hearing it the first time.
