If Avatar wasn't there ... it would be trek.

I think that's what annoys me the most.

He's also notable enough with his songs being used in so many movies to get him on there.

Yep. He has more than earned his spot in Memoriam at the Academy Awards.

alright. I just think its stretching it a bit...

stretching what? he's a performer par excellence. he would have been a great actor given half a chance. he'd have been GREAT in Hook had Steven Spielberg not changed his mind.

have you SEEN The Wiz? check it out sometime. MJ was a good actor.

I guess I just don't get it then, because Avatar looked cartoonish and fake. JMO.

I agree. I didn't find Avatar's FX -3D aside- all that "revolutionary."

Bingo. Looking at the VFX, it just doesn't look that great. Certainly not revolutionary. Either way, I'm not impressed with it.

Revolutionary in the sense that 3-D and its premium ticket prices are going to be shoved on us from here on out.

yeah I agree, he was a great performer...but then why not include Farrah or Bea too?

It just seems he was stuck in there b/c he's MJ...

Oh yeah. We can expect a spate of 3D movies from now on, with their inflated prices to match.

It's "revolutionary" in that they spent a revolutionary amount of money on it.

It's like professional sports. You spend enough money and they better win.

I suspect Bea and Farrah will get their recognition at the Emmys. (Both are probably better known for their TV work.)
