Explain your Av!

Mine is the awesomeness that is Conan O'Brien. Probably gonna change it soon though.

That's kind of the fun of the Avatar concept - you kind of get to try on a new id w/o actually changing basic things about yourself - kind of like a new hairdo or color or color contacts or a wardrobe makeover! You also get to make statements about yourself that may or may not be true! The image we offer to the public says as much about the insides of us as the outside of us!

I don't think I have to explain mine ;)

I played with the idea of changing it recently but it wouldn't be me without it.

Mine's Gul Ocett from TNG: The Chase :adore: Perhaps a change may be in order eventually, but I've had it for so long that it's how people recognise my posts now. If anyone does.

My avatar is Grace Park as Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, BSG's much-maligned altruistic philanthropist and a character a discussion on which brought this board to my attention.

I wish I could comment on all your Avs but I'd be put on a lot of posters ignore for spamming -

I must be one of them.

:borg:

I meant you'd all put me on ignore so you wouldn't have to listen to me! I'd wondered who your Av was - my first guess was Audrey Hepburn but she seemed too curvy in the face.

Scrawny71 - I think you'd better head over to the Explain your name thread! ;)

Mine is one of the pictures from "Astronomy Picture of the Day"
It happened to be on my birthday one year so I dicided on that one out of all the others I liked.

BTW Mutual, I'm behind you a bit as my year is 1949...and I proudly hit sixty this past August. Still love that handsome shot of you and remember when yolu started using it.

Challange: Using the above information...find the date of my Av on its original web site! :D

Meh. I've had mine for over three and a half years. Its iconic at this point.

Mine is the pixely main character in 80s Sierra adventure game Space Quest, painted in colours that more match my taste than the original. ;)

And I've also got a ton of Photoshops that people have made over the years, especially in a wondrous Thread we once had that was called something like "Photoshop RJDiogenes Head."
Good thread. I enjoyed contributing to it.

:D
It was awesome. One of only a couple of Threads I've ever saved.

Mine is pretty simple -- most of what troubles us could be solved (or at least eased) if we sat down and discussed our problems with a good friend while sharing some warm cookies and cold milk.
Even Revolutionaries like Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I thought he was a tomato - I even did a limerick for you for the commie lounge - now I will have to rework it for a goofy grape!
Aw, man, I had no idea. You should have told me. Post a link. :)

The avatar is from an animated series called The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. I haven't seen much of it, except from a very clips on Youtube, but it's one of the best WTF expressions I've seen.
