Explain your Av!

Currently, I'm sportin' Rene Auberjonois (DS9's Constable Odo) as Father Mulchahy in M*A*S*H (the movie, not the tv show). I'm a huge Odo fan (obviously), so almost all my avatars are Odo-related.

It's Chuck from Chuck, who is very happy about something that is about to get him and his team in quite a bit of trouble.

I was wondering who it was.

Mine is an old avatar I did when I was doing the TNG avatar contest several years ago. I'll probably make a new "ElimParra" avatar soon, as the NRL season will start soon.

Mine is a cropped version a photoshop I did for one of the contests we had a few years back. It's Kirk & Spock at a candy machine, and the machine just took Kirk's dollar. :D

Mine is an image of Arrakis's moon Muad'Dib, that I googled.. With a pimp hat, which was a lounge-specific meme, I guess.

Back in the 60s and early 70s, we had a powdered drink mix similar to Kool Aid that was called Funny Face; every flavor had its own character, such as Freckle Face Strawberry and Lefty Lemon. My favorite was Goofy Grape. I started using my av, which is of the Goofy Grape pillow, when I joined TrekBBS because I had just come across the picture and loved it. GG quickly became so strongly associated with me that there's no way I could use anything else anymore (I've also used him on every other Board I've ever joined). :rommie:

I do use variations of him on Holidays and special occasions, most of them made by Spiff. And I've also got a ton of Photoshops that people have made over the years, especially in a wondrous Thread we once had that was called something like "Photoshop RJDiogenes Head."

Good thread. I enjoyed contributing to it.

:D

Mine's very boring - it's me. The day, however was not boring. June 1, 2003 and the wedding of our older daughter.

BTW, let's compare birth certificates. I'm a 1946 model, May 3 to be exact. I know I'm one of the fossils around here but do you have me beat?
It's far from boring. It's very distinguished and adds a bit of class to the place. :)

My avatar is Scrat from the Ice Age movies.
The Ice Age movies are a big hit here in Mayville, and a lot of that is due to Scrat.

Mine is pretty simple -- most of what troubles us could be solved (or at least eased) if we sat down and discussed our problems with a good friend while sharing some warm cookies and cold milk.

I'm a fan of the weather, I get excited about it. It's what gets me up in the morning. Just explaining how the Ohio and PA are gonna get plastered with the white stuff is the best.

It's very draining. I'm glad I only have to get up there and perform once an hour. I don't think I could do it more often.

And your av has a weather graphic shaped like a giant erect penis. :bolian:

Mine was created by a friend from Livejournal - he used it as an icon one day and I just loved it. As a gay Canadian, I'm appalled at how some of the rest of the world is still lagging in giving basic equal rights to LGBT people. (Plus, I loves me a man in uniform. :techman:)

One of my favourites. :D

As for me, I like avatars that make you look twice.

I wish I could comment on all your Avs but I'd be put on a lot of posters ignore for spamming - these are all great and I love hearing your stories!

your av caught my eye b/c I collect fashion dolls. I like how you used that Wicked Witch Barbie doll as one of those green Orion girls. :techman:

I broke down and bought her because my dyeing and painting disasters; while hilarious were nothing I am willing to post as Avs -but some of my failures are in a photo album on my profile page if you ever need a laugh!

Mine is Sakonna, the Vulcan from the DS9 episode The Maquis. I've always been a bit of a Maquis sympathizer, and I decided to use her as an avatar. My intention was only to have her up for a few weeks before rotating again, but I started to make a name for myself on the board while I had her as an avatar, so I kept her for easy identification. Now I can't imagine myself with a different avatar. The purple hat is a recent addition, growing out of the DS9 5 World Story. I'll probably remove the hat soon, since I'm getting bored with it. (The hat, not the story.)

Like the hat and know your Av is a signpost for intelligent discussion (and fun!)

My current (and favorite one) is an adaptation of a poster for a movie that was fairly popular. It was made for me by a close board friend several years ago. Alas, he no longer posts here.

I love yours! I had to look at a few times before I got it - a great piece of work!

I thought he was a tomato - I even did a limerick for you for the commie lounge - now I will have to rework it for a goofy grape!

My Av is my avatar character from Star Trek Online, T'jon (a play on my first initial, T for Tim and John my middle name John!) :D
