I'm Lieutenant Level 9, about 90% of the way up. I am excited about getting my new ship by tomorrow (I figure I'll get that last 10% tonight). I love this game.

I made LTC 5 today, though today ive just been flying around doing exploration missions and some crafting at memory alpha.

I think ill reach commander by the end of next week, im in no rush :)

I just discovered the horrible truth that Lt L10 does NOT equal Lt Cmdr.
Curses!

LOL... The exact same thing happened to me. I went to bed last night thinking I was half a level from getting a new ship. Sometime early this morning it dawned on me that each rank had 10 levels not 9.:rommie:

I just hit LT Com 5 so i will getting a T3 ship in 2 or 3 days. Does anyone have any pics of all 3 T3 cruisers? I will probably go with the Olympic Medical ship but I was considering a Cruiser.

Still Lieutenant Level 3 here. I imagine I'll reach Level 5 by the time my trial subscription ends.

Do some story missions and patrols for over 100 skill points each you'll level up faster.

It's not like I haven't tried. I've done Admiral Quinn's and Akira Sulu's missions and have gotten this far. I think the game doesn't like me and is holding out skill/energy points.

I honestly am trying to figure out what you are doing. I was past level 3 after the very first patrol mission from Sulu was done.I was at 6 in 2 or 3 hours. All I did was 2 patrol missions from Sulu , The P'Jem mission and the Explore mission like twice.

I'm wondering about that myself. I completed the Sulu mishes (go to star systems and defeat the Orions), which took about two hours. That's how I gained the skill points needed to get from Level 2 to 3. Today I did the Starbase 24 mish and kicked some Klingon butts. There was also a massive space battle involving other starships and Klingon vessels. I averaged about a couple of hours, gained some skill points, but did not advance at all.

STO is a very labor-intensive game. You go to one place, blast some ships or kill ground enemies, hoping you won't get defeated yourself, kill the first, second, and third group, move to site B, move to site C, rinse and repeat. Now if that's not grindage, I don't know what is. And I wouldn't mind if I was getting thousands of points and rewards, but no. And I can only devote two hours per night to this game due to my schedule. It's a pity the game is battle-focused, too, which is contrary to the whole diplomacy and peaceful exploration concepts of the series.

That's true. Even the diplomatic missions are battle intensive. I'm currently at Lieutenant L10, about halfway up the ladder, and it's getting harder and harder to get skill points without doing two hour missions. The sector block clearing gets you about 1/5th of a skill bar (so 5 sector block clearing missions is a new level), but if no one else is there when you arrive at one of the enemy signal contacts, and that's usually the case for me because I play late at night, it takes ages to clear them out.

The more I hear about this game, the better it sounds. I sort of really want to design my own starship.

Anyone else pulling their hair out over the stupid Borg War Zone (Salvaged Relationships in the Neutral Zone) when you first go to K7. I must have played that 20 times now with no credit!

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Lieutenant Level 10,and need to complete this to get Lieutenant Commander.

I got Lieutenant Commander! :D

May I present, the USS Axiom-A:

As I get closer to Lt. Com. I keep worrying that I am putting points in all the wrong palces.
