We've had a couple of episodes sans Frankie Boyle, how do we think it's going without him?
It doesn't seem to have suffered like I thought it would with the new comedy guidelines or without Frankie.

Series 8?

I didn't like Patrick Kielty last week, or whoever that woman was this week, but aside from them the show seems okay still. Frankie could have very biting humour at times, which is what the show misses by having guests that are a bit middle-of-the-road.

I think it was just me but Russell Howard didn't seem as enthused as usual.

I didnt think he looked well to be honest. He was really pale and didnt seem to have the energy he normally has in the stand up bits.

It lacks the Frankie factor no doubt about that. Patrick Kielty is not at all funny and seemed out of place on the first show of the series. Chris Addison was better but still he he lacks the vitreol of Frankie Boyle they really need somebody who can do that to make the show edgy get Jerry Sadowitz or somebody like him.

Frankie had a great ability to get a laugh out of me, and that somehow snowballed and made all the other comedians seem funnier. Now that he's not there I don't get that kick-start Frankie used to provide so I find myself stroking my chin and saying "Yes, that was quite amusing" rather than really laughing. I'll keep watching and see how it goes, but I never noticed how vital he was to my enjoyment of the show until he was gone.

So far it looks like Andy Parsons as upped his game this series or now that Frankie has gone they have stopped edited him out.
