These Are The Voyages - Your Opinion, Please

[...] "Demons"/"Terra Prime" could quite easily have served as an incredibly fitting conclusion to Enterprise that emphasised why humanity needs to reach out to the stars with open arms, in the spirit of co-operation.

[...] I think I'll finish at "Terra Prime" and leave on a high note.

Your certainly not the first person to make that observation, many fans (myself included) and one of the people who ran the show (I forget...was it Mike Sussman, or Manny Coto?) consider "Demons" and "Terra Prime" as the true finale of Enterprise, partially stemming from the sort of comments you made, and the fact that TATV...well...sucks. I have not watched TATV since it's first airing (or once or twice after that possibly) and that has been it.

Not the worst episode of a modern STAR TREK series by a longshot, to be sure..."Shades of Grey(TNG)," "Move Along Home(DS9)," "Profit and Lace(DS9)," "Fair Haven(VOY)" and "Spirit Folk(VOY)" each and in their own inimitable and painful ways blow harder than "TATV" and are some of the most Epic Fail ever to appear in any strand of the Trek franchise dating all the way back to the first year of TOS...but for an ENTERPRISE episode it's bottom-of-the barrel crapola.

Yeah, there are quite a few crappy episodes scattered around the Trekverse, but at least none of them were the final episode. :scream:

When even "Turnabout Intruder" is considered an infinitely better final episode of a TREK series, you know you screwed the captain's beagle.

 Yeah, that one is very very high on my list of Dreadful Trek.

As much criticism and shit as VOYAGER got during its run(much of it deserved, arguably), at least it got a semi-appropriate and engaging two-hour finale that didn't alienate a good chunk of the Trekker base. "Endgame" had its logical loopholes and moronic moments to be certain and it wasn't anywhere near as satisfying as either "All Good Things..." OR "What You Leave Behind," but it got the job done and tied up enough loose ends for the Voyager crew that you didn't feel cheated for the most part. "TATV" was hijacked by TNG characters who didn't need nor deserve to be in the finale and the long-suffering cast of ENT got the short end of the stick when it came to screen time, dialogue and telling what happened to them.

I've evy Star Trek episode in existance and I still maintain my original stement. I loved Enterprise and this episode is the only episode I truly hate. There are some elements I liked, but overall if there was a grade like F- I would give it. By worst episode ever I mean ever in quite possibly and tv series. Theycompletely dropped the ball and gave the crew a horrible send off. We didn't even get to see Archer make his speech and they killed off Trip for god's sakes in the last episode. The only thing that made it remotely enjoyable was the very end the showed all the Enterprises and the "space the final frontier... " this was the biggest turd in the punchbowl I've ever seen. You know I said it's the only episode of Enterprise I've ever hated, I take it back, it's the only Star Trek episode I've ever hated. Even the shittiest episodes of Voyeger(which is my least favorite series)I can find something I like, TATV has so litle that I can honestly say I hate this episode.
