DS shooter

I finished Final Fantasy III, my first-ever DS game, last month. Now I'm looking for a DS first-person shooter that:
A: isn't call of duty
B: has wi-fi multiplayer
C: can be found at any Fred Meyer
D: is reasonably good
Can anyone help me?

Shooters just don't work comfortably on the DS. There really haven't been any good ones. Even the Metroid game is pretty bad.

Why would you want a DS FPS? I mean, it's a great system, but the hardware just isn't there. You might as well try to play God of War on an Atari 2600.

Oh come on. That's hyperbole. The DS is at least as powerful as the N64, which has Goldeneye and Perfect Dark: two of the most beloved shooters of all time. The big problem with the DS is the lack of control stick which is absolutely essential for a FPS. There is simply no comfortable way to utilize the touch screen for aiming. Your hand will be in agony.

Besides that fact, (or probably because of it) there have not been any good games in the genre made for the system. Even the Metroid game (one of Nintendo's flagship series known for it's stellar quality) was a terrible, almost unplayable mess of a game.

If you simply must have an FPS, the DS is not your system, sorry.

Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit (a lot) with that comment, but I still can't imagine a good FPS on the DS. Maybe a good FPS relative to the DS, but not a good FPS by objective standards.

You have a system with a 3 inch screen, poor 3D ability, and no control stick. It's a recipe for sub-par gameplay. A semi-3D game like Doom or Wolfenstein where you don't have to aim as much as point in the general direction of the enemy would work, but a real 3D FPS such as Halo or Goldeneye? I don't see how it's possible.

I just won't be able to decide on the control issue until I actually try it for myself. Most people considered the RE4 PC controls unworkable on the computer but I thought they were just fine.

I'll chime in with others that the DS control system just isn't very workable for shooters. Even the PSP, which is more powerful than the DS and does have a control stick, doesn't have many particularly strong shooters.

For portable gaming, I think we'll have to wait until the next generation of devices before we can really replicate the kind of FPSs we currently have on consoles/PC.

I'm going to have to agree with the users stating that the DS just isn't designed with FPS games in mind. It's too awkward to use the D-pad for forward, left strafe, right strafe, backwards, the abxy buttons to turn right, turn left, look up, look down, and then the shoulder buttons to fire. No, it's too awkward without at least an analog stick.
