What Can Trek Fans do in Las Vegas, Now?

Picard Maneuver

Guest
I’m proud to call myself a nerd (when there aren’t cute girls in the room). However, next month, on February 20th, Picard Maneuver will be performing in Las Vegas, and I’m not sure what Sin City has to offer for a couple of nerds like us. Do you have any suggestions for what nerds can to in Las Vegas? Here are a few of our ideas:

  • Keep asking people "No, seriously. Where is the Star Trek Experience?"
  • Drive around town to find hookers. When we do, ask them for directions to the Pinball Museum.
  • Try Vulcan Mind Meld on slot machine.
  • … Be escorted away from said slot machine by security.
  • While strangers leave their tables to get more food at the buffet, leave origami on their chairs and hope they get vague "Blade Runner" reference.
  • Visit "Biffs" Casino while looking for my Grays Sports Almanac 1950-2000.
Want to come see us perform in Las Vegas on February 20th? We’d love to see you! Check it out at HERE OR at our website HERE.

Hook up with the gang from Trekcast, a weekly Star Trek podcast recorded in Vegas. One of the hosts, Darren Benjamin, was a bartender at Quark's for 9 years, and is currently working as a bartender at another establishment that defies all my current efforts to remember its name. If nothing else, they can certainly give you the lowdown on What to Do If You're A Nerd In Vegas. Tell 'em I sent ya. :)

sex with robot is hilarious idea, I cant imagine how will you do that Kamasutra style with them

You could always try and break the house in order to escape a casino. Just a suggestion *shrugs shoulders*.
On another note, one of my friends who is big Back to the Future fan, wanted to see Biff's Casino, so when we went out there, we had to go downtown. Sadly the front facade is not as fancy as Biff's. (For those wondering, Biff's is actually the Plaza hotel located on Main and Fremont in Vegas).

Hmmm. This thread could be the source of another Voyager episode.

Kim, having sex on the holodeck with a robot as the ship enters an anomaly. A child is conceived; part human, part macine and part data in the form of energy. Along with causing the baby the anamoly sends them way back in time. They escape back to their present time but leave the baby behind. And that baby is the beginnign of the Borg.

I'm gonna go find me a male escort if I'm gonna go to Vegas. I'm not much into gambling and losing all of my money.

You can sometimes catch the old STTE gang hanging out at the Spacequest Bar at the Hilton. I tried doing that without the gang and just got depressed looking at the wall o' ads where STTE used to be. The also some kind of sci-fi shop/museum on Sahara just before you get to Maryland. I'm not sure what it's called and any directions I could give would just be confusing due to faulty memory :). The Ugly Couch Show guys did a segment there last year so they might know. www.uglycouchshow.com (They're former STTE employees so they also have a ton of pics from STTE's final days as well)

And then, yeah, the robot sex in a holdeck going through an anomaly is always kind of a go-to.
