Trilogies you never finished

I was talking to a friend about the way movie trilogies are made (like if they were filmed all at once or one at a time) and it got me thinking, which ones haven't you finished?

I have never watched PotC3 or Matrix 3 because I hated the second ones so much. I haven't watched 95% of LotRs 2 and 3 because they are so long and boring. I haven't ever watched Star Trek 3 (ST2 through 4 are the trilogy) fully because I keep falling asleep.

There were two sequels to In the Heat of the Night, but the first of the two was so gawd awful, I couldn't bring myself to watch the third movie in the series.

BttF II was horrendous, but BttF III is a LOT better. Its actually my favorite of the three.

:techman:

I have never seen Jurassic Park III. I love the first, really disliked the second, and never gave the third a chance because of that.

^ I was surprised at how much I enjoyed JP3. It's really just a fun "run from the scary dinosaurs" movie and has no illusions about trying for character depth or anything like that.

I never saw The Matrix Revolutions. Reloaded was enough for me to decide that I was done.

I got about halfway through Pirates of the Carribbean 2 and never finished it or went on to 3. Honestly, the first half of 2 bored me, but I've heard it gets better from there. I'm sure I'll get to it at some point.

I also haven't seen Spider-Man 3 yet. I picked it up previously viewed a while ago, but I just haven't had any interest in watching it.

Matrix 2 and 3 never interested me. Like many, I was blown away by the first movie, but by the time 2 came along those effects were old hat and I just wasn't interested.

I also haven't had any burning desire to see Prince Caspian, though I enjoyed the first Narnia movie.

And although I did eventually get around to seeing it, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones was the first Star Wars film that I never bothered going to see in the theatres. Probably a good call as Natalie Portman in skin-tight whites was the only good thing about it, and III was so crappy I nearly walked out of the theatre.

I've never seen Pirates: At World's End. Never made it past the first 20 minutes of Matrix Reloaded, so I've obviously not seen Revolutions. And even though I own it on DVD, I somehow still haven't sat down and watched Spider-Man 3.

I haven't seen Starship Troopers 2 or 3 yet. That's about all I can think of for now.

Never saw Empire Strikes Back... saw A New Hope and Jedi, just heard Empire was a bunch of talking and Yoda puppeteering in a swamp. I hear it felt out of whack because Lucas didnt' direct it. Maybe some day I'll watch it.

:wtf:

I always finish trilogies. Even if I don't like parts of them, I hate knowing only part of the story.

:wtf: Where are you getting your info from? It's a fantastic movie!

And FYI, Lucas only directed A New Hope.

I haven't read the entirety of the HGTTG six-part trilogy, because a new book has recently been released, apparently..

I was kidding...
I hope so!

It's so hard to tell sometimes. I've definitely heard people on this website say weirder things.

Pirates of the Caribean At World's End I've not seen yet or the Bourne Ultimatum the later because I just haven't gotten around to seeing it yet.

I haven't really seen it either, unless catching the last 5 minutes on TV counts, and that was enough to put me off watching it from the beginning. As far as I'm concerned, The Matrix is a standalone movie and the sequels don't exist.

I haven't seen Spider-Man 3. Not in the theater, anyway; I got to see some of the filming (rehearsal, actually) in New York, though.
