Yeah, that's why I think you should never publish tie-in literature set after the last canonical instance.
Nonsense. Why should the corporations pass up money? Their publishing those comics didn't damage Star Trek in any way.

i dont think the novels would have build up that much of an audience.
Pocket Books and CBS will still get income. They've already named some of the titles that will slot into the four empty spaces.but it would be income coming in between movies.
Of course they're not. Someone higher up told them to hold off.i also dont see pocketbook being the parent of this idea.
They'll get it back when the books are finally published. No one said they're canceled outright.i am pretty sure they know how much income they are kissing goodbye.

I've already acknowledged that media tie-ins are estimated to be read by 1-2% of the general audience. I was saying that, if the novels are poorly received, the fan grumblings might grow and grow, as they did with reactions to the leaked "Nemesis" script. That film had no hope of survival amid all those negative vibes.
.
i suspect most of the people i know personally who avoided nemesis like the plague did so based on that trailer and later word of mouth.
because i know they didnt know about the leaked script.
