Has anyone seen this?

Home now, and I've seen it. And that was deeply stupid. Whoever created it should be shot.

I'm not a fan of a lot of these tribute videos. There have been some fantastic ones made, don't get me wrong. But lately they've either been borderline slash vids in tribute to the Tenth Doctor (as if Tennant had died or something) or they're recycled from the Doctor Who Confidential "Thanks for the Memories" tribute video and claimed as the uploader's own work. There have been fantastic all-Doctors tributes, and some charming Doctor-specific ones (there's a great slideshow one done to "Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Backseat" and another of the Ninth Doctor and Rose done to the "Pinky and the Brain" theme song), but it's been a long time since I've seen one that hasn't made me go "oh please" and turn off after the first few seconds.

There's a Tenth Doctor Tribute contest going on right now on YT that has some good entries.

There's one tribute vid that was actually made, oh, several, several months ago that I think is actually the best of the bunch. I'll have to wade through all my YT Favorites to find it...

One of things I hate about youtube is that you can search for ages to find a particular scene from a show and every version you can find is ruined by someone's douchebag music playing over the top.

Wow. Lot of negativity here considering it was just someone trying to share in their love of a show we all (theoretically) enjoy.

Not too much negativity as the bar has been raised pretty high.

OK, ok, that one's a joke. Seriously speaking:

Here's a beautifully made video built around Song of Freedom:

This is one of those rehashes of the Thanks for the Memories video, but has a little extra going for it as it's the complete song and different clips have been added to it:

And this one might be one of my favorites. It's all of 45 seconds long and shows you can do a tribute without having a sappy song playing for 5 minutes. This is the type of clip I'd love to see played at the Emmys or something:

Here's a great one about all the Companions set to Love Don't Roam. A noble effort, though the premise falls apart a bit as the song becomes a bit awkward when the male companions appear!

And it's not a case of me just pushing "all Doctors" clips. Although the ones I'm looking for are no longer available on YouTube (and yes I have just checked) there have been some wonderful Song for Ten and Love Don't Roam videos built around the Ninth and Tenth Doctors (and sometimes both). And of course, Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Backseat...

EDIT: I found it, but sadly the music track has been stripped off it by YouTube. :(

Sure, and if you think there are other videos that are better, there's nothing wrong with that.

But I think we can share videos we enjoy and think may be better than some without trashing the ones we don't like, too. These are, after all, labours of love created by our fellow fans. We can say, "I really enjoy this one" without saying, "That one sucks," y'know?

Fair enough, but you have to realize the reality of these forums. When people post here they have to expect criticism, both fair and unfair. It's the nature of the beast. Also, the OP made no claim to have created the video in question. So it's fair game, especially when there are far superior examples of fan-made video that the OP and others may not be aware of.

And if the OP did make the video, then negative criticism is a learning experience.

On a side note, it was my browser acting up again - that "Seven Little Girls" video link I posted does indeed have working sound. YT has been stripping audio off the occasional video because of complaints, but it didn't happen here.
