So it's only a few groups with in society that you disagree with and thus prejudice, that's nice to know, so you draw the line at discriminating someone by there ethnic origin or if they are mentally or physically disabled, but if they have a vagina or are homosexual, that's fair game?

I'm not not trying to be funny. Given the whole Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations thing in Star Trek and the reason most people come on here is a mutual interest in Star Trek, it's amazing how many people are prejudice against some group or other.

Exactly, which is why the real villain was Rassilon. RTD took the The Five Doctors bits about the rumors about Rassilon and immortality being a curse, not a blessing and developed them such that Rassilon, not the Master, was the Doctor's foil.

The Master had refused to regenerate before. He had already died and returned to life. The Doctor chose to die in the end, even though he didn't want to go. Rassilon leaved in fear of his own death, had been locked in the Tower for who knows how long before the Time Lords brought him back, and was now prepared to bring about the end of everything, ultimately for his own vanity.

One sort of wonders though, from Ood Sigma's line that the song was ending but the story never ends if perhaps if RTD was in his own way using all that radiation the Doctor absorbed as a possible device for a future producer/editor/writer to extend the 12 regeneration limit. We know from The Deadly Assassin that the Eye of Harmony's energy was capable of helping the Master heal, and he was planning on using it not just to destroy Gallifrey but also to reboot his regenerative cycle...perhaps the radiation could later be used as a means to explain a new set of regenerations.

Well yes and no actually, I got it changed for when all the names were changed back in October for the Halloween name changes and I just haven't got round to removing it in my location field!But thanks for reminding me, I'll change it now as not to cause any confusion again!

I re-watched this just recently, and while the second part redeems the first (partially), it's just so ... insane.

It just goes to show that when Davies tries to go big and bombastic and over the top, he has no idea what he's doing and it just flies on by at Ludicrous Speed while we all stare at the aftermath and say, "He's gone to plaid."

Yes and no. I think his season finales will probably be tighter affairs, better plotted, but they might not be as epic in scope (face it after the end of the universe and the end of time itself where's left to go?) They will likely be more personal affairs. They might lack the mad energy that RTD's scripts had but personally I'm imagining I'll enjoy them more. But then I've always been more moved by the potential death of a few than the end of infinity itself!!!!
