Phone Marketed as "Unbreakable" is Broken in Front of CEO

Have we learned nothing from the Titanic?

Sonim's idea for the 'world's most rugged phone'--a sturdy phone that can be dropped from 10 stories, stepped on, submerged in water, and more--is a good one. However, it deserves a spot among the most ridiculous gadgets at CES 2010 because of one significant mishap: a BBC reporter was caught live, on tape, accidentally breaking the 'unbreakable' phone (while the flabbergasted Sonim CEO looked on: "You've actually broken the phone," he laughs. "That's impressive."). See the video here.

I'm not surprised it broke when the guy's slamming the screen like that so many times.
I'm sure the phone could quite easily survive a 10 story drop because it would survive likely a single initial impact and a couple of smaller bouncers but slamming the phones actual screen against a fish tank that many times would break any damn phone.

It's designed to survive accidentally dropping it not beating the damn thing senseless.

You obviously don't know what "unbreakable" means.

Did you watch the video? The CEO claimed you could hammer a nail with it, which would put a lot more strain on it than dropping it.

Didn't someone make a hard-drive that could withstand being put in a burn-chamber, blasted in salt-water or regular water at fire-hose pressures, dropped from significant height and run over by a large crane?

What company was behind this?

Reminds me of the Blue Screen Bill Gates got when he was showing off some version of windows that was supposed to be more stable, LOL
