O'Brien out, Leno back in?

Fifteen-year-old pop culture references would be a step up, honestly.

A Letterman fan complaining about repetitive jokes -- What's next? A Yankees fan complaining about escalating payrolls?

So what's it like legislating what is and is not considered a "sense" of humor? How does one become so fragile that someone not liking Letterman's brand of humor is somehow personally offensive?

I too am with Coco...but I'm using the official Coco pic on my Facebook...needed something a little different for over here...

<-- Same here. ;)

You're missing the point. I'm not defending Letterman, I'm pointing out that the "dialogue/plot swap" jokes you post all the time, frankly, suck. I usually just scroll past your usual "If Jack Bauer were in Lord of the Rings"-style gags with a simple roll of the eyes--thankfully, people rarely reply to them--but when you pop into a thread to call anyone "unfunny" and people critical of Leno "jackasses," you've got it coming.

Your "swap" jokes are the Internet equivalent of lame impressionists who do crap like, "What if Jack Nicholson worked at McDonalds? 'You waaaant fries with thaaaaat?'"

In many cases, like the one linked above, you don't even make a twist to the dialogue or anything, you simply change which character is saying it.

I'm not even going to bother telling you to stop it, much as I'd like to. I know that's a pointless venture. (If silence from the audience doesn't do it, nothing will.)

So no one's "legislating" anything, but I wish to God we could.

That last line of yours pretty much says it all about you, doesn't it? You do know what a "sense" of humor is, don't you? There is no hard line rule for what people find funny or not funny, which is why something like Saved By the Bell could last for as long as it did.

And clearly you are defending Letterman with your "I don't find you funny so you can't call anyone else unfunny" routine, since nothing else set you off to display such a mentality.

It must be great for your ego that no one can put you on block, huh?

Also, you seemed to miss the part (of the entire one sentence) where I was referring to the entire late night debate bringing out jackasses in general, and that many of the Leno haters and bashers (not critics) are the biggest jackasses. I also made a comparison to politicians and their followers that you chose to ignore.

So, anyone else setting their DVR's to snag all the shows tonight? I've got mine to grab the Tonight Show, Craig, and JKL.

I don't have a DVR, but I usually watch the shows on Hulu the next day or via their respective online counterparts. I watch Conan at 11:35 every night, though. Can't miss Coney.

You catch the bit last night at the end of the show when Conan goes "See you all tomorrow night... Maybe."

Yeah, that was great.

Yeah, that was great.

The banter between Conan and Tom was great too, "NBC, 70, NBC, 70" and how classy was Zachary Levi saying that he, and the entire Chuck team, would follow Conan where ever he goes. When he said that Tom Brokaw nodded his head in agreement.

Because Conan is a great show man, is funny, and respects the medium. I agree with Tom, Zach and everyone else. Conan was wronged, NBC made a huge blunder and then compounded it, and I want Conan to come out on top and NBC to eat crow..er... peacock.

Spider-Man Begins -- Curt Connors mentors Peter and then turns out to be the bad guy in the end. And Gwen Stacy tells Peter, "It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you."

The Dark Web --- Green Goblin brings chaos to Spider-Man's world, kills Gwen Stacy and turns Quentin Beck into a villain.

No joke. The entire Kimmel show was a well-timed attack on Leno to show that everyone on late-night television thinks NBC is fucked and is fucking itself even further.

Well, until Chevy Chase showed up. That just sucked.

I can't help but wonder just how much better Conan WOULD be doing if he had a strong primetime schedule behind him, with no lame 10:00 comedy show there to cheapen the entire network and grab all the attention.

Obviously he's still be trailing Letterman, but his numbers would probably STILL be a lot better than they are now...

It's just a shame he never had a proper chance.

Huffington has the I'm with COCO story: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/13/im-with-coco-internet-rus_n_421577.html

Since the news broke that Jay Leno was losing his 10p show and moving back to late night, bumping Conan from his 11:30p slot, the Internet has been up in arms. Facebook groups like Team Conan and I'm with Coco have sprung up, boasting thousands of members. Twitter has been deluged with the hashtag #teamconan (there are very few #teamjay posts). And sites like Consumerist have published email addresses of NBC executives so that readers can protest.
Even celebs have voiced their support for Conan on the Web. "My heart belongs to Conan!" tweeted Alison Brie, an actress on NBC's "Community." When O'Brien announced he wouldn't be taking the 12:05am slot after Jay, Alyssa Milano responded, "Dear Conan, Good. For. You."
