As the Mayan Calendar simply records the end of an age and the start of a new one in 2012, I am a bit concerned about the ramifications of the new age that will commence. Will the signal point be the first cybernetic eye? A subcutaneous cell phone? What will be the start of the Cybernetic Age?

Or will it be something else? Stem cell research annihiliating macular degeneration, spinal chord injuries, ALS, Muscular Dystrophy? The Age of Eugenics.

Or, maybe we'll just nuke ourselves.
