And, while not technically candy...Fizzies!

Sixlets - recent ones I found weren't as good.

Circus Peanuts - either you like them or your hate them.

I remember candy cigarettes...but they sucked, but were cool because they were like cigarettes. ;)

When I was a really little kid, like 2-3, I used to love Milkybar Buttons (and got angry whenever somebody bought me the Cadburies ones instead). I can't eat white chocolate any more though, it's too sweet.

So for children of the 70's did anyone ever actually try and eat Pop Rocks washed down with Coke to see if they would survive?

And how exactly did rumors manage to go all the way across the country in the days before the Internet?

^Telephone and snail mail....

I had a couple of favorites as a kid. I can't remember the name of the first one, but I think it's called Whatchamacallit now. The other was the Chunky bar.

Sweet Tarts
Fun Dip
Jolly Ranchers

Of course, I still indulge in these every once in a while. The only difference between now and childhood is that I only have these around holidays or the random cravings during nice days.

I really loved (and still do) those chalky pink canada mints. My mother used to eat them all the time and I used to sneak them from her bag.

Just thinking about those sweets makes my mouth water, I loved things like penny chew mixes of Blackjacks, Pineapple chews also curley wurlies, all washed down with Cream Soda or Dandylion & Burdock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
